Hi All,

I've just bought a sigma 10 - 20 and was just thinking about what UV filter I would need to protect it.

Thinking Hoya but whats the difference between the Blue, green and the HMC filters? Which would be best for the sigma?

sorry I should have mentioned its only to protect the lens.

I shot into some slighty dodgy places sometimes and would feel better knowing that the lens is protected to a certain extent.

No worries - you did mention it!!!

In that case, if you do really need one, the advice from a few of the more, 'advanced' members of the forum suggest NOT using a cheap and nasty one, as IQ can be degraded.
 
lol I did mention it, I think I'm going mad :nuts:

Think I've ruled out the green hoyas, just need to work out which is better between the blue and HMC filters.

Went for the HMC filter in the end, I've always used blue hoyas as I can't afford the pro range, it'll be interesting to see if there is any difference between the blue and HMC filters.
