Hi guys, we sometimes need do some edits of photos, especially wedding photos for customers. But my wedding photographer friend found it takes much time to retouch wedding photos. I just wonder what troubles you most when touching up the wedding photos for customers? The same problem or any other troubles?

I'm not sure exactly what you mean, you say retouching but that tends to be on a one off basis if a bride has say a scar or tattoo or something.
If you just mean the normal editing, I suppose my pet hate is removing chewing gum off the floor in the group shots.

Trawling through 25 of the same photo and the groom has his eyes closed in every single one.

thanks swanseamale, my photographer friend felt time consuming for retouching the bride's portraits all the time, as the bride had a scar. when you have this problem, how would you solve it? :)

:D so it's a really big challenge for you! did you have this problem really? I just wonder how you dealt with the photos then.:D

Lets assume the bride has a tattoo/scar, first off I wouldn't remove it at all unless the bride requested it, lots of people like their tattoos or scars left in place, it's them after all.
If it did need to be removed I'd probably use the clone tool or the healing brush (or both) depending on what it is and where.
If the bride/whoever does have something like this one trick is to ask before shooting starts (some will tell you "don't shoot my scar etc) simply asking "your ok with the tattoo showing?" or something similar means you can try and avoid it as much as possible at the taking stage, thus saving yourself lots of post process time.

pretty much this, only remove them if requested, and many that have scars or similar dont want them removing, they are part of them.

My bug bear... well not really a general retouching issue as such, but I will try and remove any really intrusive ones from album images if possible - H&S signs/equipment, they drive me nuts...fire escape signs, exit signs, etc etc.... Why, in the name of all that is photographically holy, do so many venues recommend the top table goes infront of all those signs, when the rest of the room is almost totally free of them?!?! :bang: Not having a go at those signs per se, I understand the obligations and need to have them, but sometimes....

Although i did one last year where the all the plug sockets [and not just a couple, there were about 6 double ones] were all arranged at a nice safe height along the wall.... immediately behind the top table... nicely at head height of everyone sitting there...

Tatty vestrys are another pain, there's pictures taken there every week but many still have peeling plaster and paint, plus tons of... well lets call it clutter (not what I call it) thats always in the background.

Agree with everything that Wayne and Yvonne have already said. I read some place about a photographer who removed a Bride's facial mole on all the photos she appeared on without having discussed it beforehand. Not surprisingly the couple were totally unimpressed. I only ever remove obvious zits that will go on their own. Often they are there as a result of nerves and assuring people beforehand that they will be removed really helps them relax.

that always happen...make photographers' job more challengeable, and increase the post processing time when trying to remove all the unexpected stuff. :baby:

thanks Jim.:D Your idea about the zits is helpful that neither my friend nor I have noticed before. :p
