Hi Guys,

Basically I am being hounded off girlfriend, mother, and other relatives, asking what I want for christmas.

Honestly, I do not have any idea what I want?

What are you guys getting and what have you asked for?

I say "Surprise me with something expensive!"

Another Nikon 70-200 VRII - all beit the thermos flask version :$

So that I can drink my coffee whilst on a PS3....

I'm thinking of maybe asking for a Sigma 10-20.

At the minute I only have a 17-55 and the nifty, so at some point I would like an UWA and a zoom.

my dad has always said "i dont know.... anything" when i ask him what he wants for xmas/birthday, so last birthday he got a pair of size 10 girlie boxers with pink pawprints all over them. funnily enough this year hes managed to think up a few things he wants :D

I hate being asked every year what I want. If I want something and I can afford it, I buy it. I sometimes buy myself presents for my sons to give me, but that's it. I much prefer giving than receiving.

So does everyone else, hence hey want to give you something!!!

Depends on budget, but if you want togging gear, then get some studio gear (lightstands and brollies are £10 to full sets at hundreds) if you have none, or reversing rings to try Macro, or relfectors, or bags There is alwayssomething.

Failing that, a jeremy clarkson book, socks and a toblerone, cos your gonna get them anyways!

I think my problem is after being married for 21 years, I think people should have an idea of what I'm into and what I might like. If they can't be bothered to work it out for themselves by now, I'm not going to make it any easier on them.:nono:

at christmas i tend to prefer the 'surprise me' thing, which was a bit against the grain on my wife's side as they all used to just swap money / vouchers so people could buy what they wanted. that's not what xmas is about is it??

i like this place - some good gizmos and gadgets there

a Canon point & shoot, may be a bit more inclined to take that out rather than the 50d and all it's gizmo's which just sits gathering dust.

I am getting some nice cheese!

In our family, if you don't want or need anything specific, instead of giving money / vouchers (for us, that goes against the grain, unless it is towards something expensive), we give gifts which can be eaten or drank then we do not have to find somewhere to put an unwanted gift.

Theres always this place, http://www.difficultdads.com/ they claim to have something for the man who has everything, so there should be at least one thing on there you'd like:)

I do hope my wife doesn't find that site, it will be a complete waste of money. The only thing on their of interest would be driving experiences and having already done one, I don't think they are very good value for money.

It's just my wife and I, and the kids (grown up), that exchange presents. Rule of thumb is surprises only - no hinting - and nothing costing more than £10. We also send a decent donation to one of the wildlife or animal welfare groups we support.
