I booked the last week in August off work expecting to go on holiday but bcause of a few things I'm not now going but I've still got the time booked off and have a couple of options...

1. Cancel the holiday and go to work and save the holiday for some time between now and April (the rest of my holiday is booked for November so this is all I have)

2. Spend a week with the camera seing places I've not been before.

3. Redecorate our spare bedroom and main bedroom

Number 2 appeals (3 really does not) but, and this is a big but, whatever I do needs to be cheap, not necessarilly local to London, but I can't afford hotels every night and I don't have a tent either. I could do a trip to the north west as the in-laws live in middlewich and I'll get a round of golf or two in too but if I make the trip then what to see? Any ideas, anyone up for a Liverpool meet midweek maybe?

make bedroom 2 into a darkroom and get into film

It's a side of photography that's never appealed strangely. I spent a few weeks with a film SLR (after using a compact digital) and didn't like it so bought a DSLR. I've been hooked on digital ever since. I love the ease and control of digital processing and would rather set up a decent room for processing digital stuff now.

Don't bother coming to Cornwall - its rained here for weeks.....and yesterday 30mph + winds...and the central heating switched on. :shake:

^^^ Gets my vote

Im in the same boat mate. Got 10 days off from sept 5th which was meant for a holiday to Cyprus but does not look like its happening:shake:

Lake District sounds like a good plan though, whatever the weather.

Go for a few days away in europe.

Go somewhere like prague, or paris, or barcelona, take the camera, and i'm sure last minute holidays with flights for a few days will only be a couple of hundred quid.

Europe's out I'm afraid. Going to cost a bit too much to do that, even with budget flights, and the mrs wouldn't let me go without her either.

Tell her that you'll be in Skegness?

Get yourself to Wales and do some low flying shots. You'll be hooked once you do!
