Hi all, my wife and myself are spending 3/4 days down in Mevagissey next week, and looking at the weather now i was thinking about ideas of where to go down there if its raining. :shrug:If it were fine we were hoping to go walking along the coast, should be plenty of photo opportunties there. I know of the Eden project which is not far away and will be undercover but not of much else! Can any one give me some other ideas of what photo opportunities there are undercover down Mevagissey way.:help:
Thanks in advance
Len

I wouldn't recommend the Eden project if it's raining. While the biomes are undercover they are only a small fraction of the entire place. Plus everyone will be hiding in the domes getting out of the rain which will make it quite crowded - not fun when everyone is warm and wet. It really is a place you need to visit in the dry.

Come to Fowey one day. It's a very nice little village and I may even be in the Galleon Inn. Also check out the signage - I designed the logo. :)

Truro is a nice town if you're looking for something a bit more cosmopolitan (not hard in Cornwall but don't expect too much - it's only just got a Starbucks :p)

I'm not really sure what to recommend down my way when the weathers bad. I tend to stay somewhere warm with some nice food and watch the world go by (usually the pub).

Thanks for the reply panzer but i dont think the other half will appreciate me spending even more time in a pub! But if we do end up in fowey we might pop into the galleon for `lunch`.:naughty:

Cherryrig also thanks for the reply but i`m a bit of a coward to take my gear out in the rain, much prefer indoor shots when the weathers bad.

Thanks
Len

The Sharks Fin... Not great for Photo opportunities, but it's warm dry and serves beer.

Apart from the Eden Project, you could try a tour of St Austel Ales Brewery. Recommend the HSD if there is any on draft, but don't drive . Are we noticing a theme ? (St Austels do ( did ) let you take photographs.

You could also try the maritime museum at Falmouth. Bit of a drive but a good place to visit. If the weather isn't to bad, go to St Maws and take the ferry across the Fal

was in cornwall on hols last year, great place for togs IF the weather's nice.we were staying at mother ivey's bay on trevose head, and spent time visiting port isaac(where doc martin was filmed),padstow, fowey(pronounced foy),tintagel, boscastle, newquay, mevagissey and the eden project.we were very lucky weatherwise,as we only had one day of rain,so spent that shopping in padstow:(.just keep your fingers crossed for dry weather

Chappers and Stan thanks for the replies, the brewery tour sounds like it might be an ok way to spend a few hours out of the rain.
We hope to visit some of the surrounding villages too.

Thanks

Thanks Stan, yeah quite a little group starting up.The pics of the area are very picturesque, hopefully the weather will be fine for some picture opportunities. The last pic looks like Rest Bay, Porthcawl looking towards Porthcawl. Very similar coastline.
Whereabouts in Neath you based, i`m from the Cimla but originally a Melin boy.

Dogfish thanks for the pdf. I`m spoilt for choice now. Much appreciated.

yeah, now you mention it,it does look like rest bay a little, lol.

a melin boy eh,that's where i'm living now...well,danygraig road anyway,so near enough.taxi(gerald)lives just around the corner from me in dalton road.i've been out around swansea marina with him to try some night time shooting,as i've not really atempted it before...practice makes perfect eh!

I`m living a bit further up the hill, not far from the common.
Struggling to get out with the camera right now, either work or bad weather gets in the way.
Good luck with the night time shooting, plenty to shoot in the marina, not the easiest, but practise does make perfect as you say.
