What the flip! Lens problem.

I have a Tokina 28-70mm f3.5 with Macro facility. Taken around 14 images with it on my Minolta XG1. Put my glasses on each time and focussed correctly etc. Went into town today to shoot some images of buildings. I'd forgotten my glasses. Never mind, if I use f11, 28mm and infinity setting... I'm sure to get something. Hold on a minute. The depth of field indicators aren't in line with the aperture ring. How is that possible? The barrel seems to be okay and surely it can't have been forced round. Am I being totally stupid yet again. Is it something I'm not pressing? Macro button?

Sorted it. I think it must have been dropped at some point and the top part had not been aligned correctly. Yeah!
