Yes
Hey folks.
I love seeing other peoples tattoos. Done a search but never really seen a thread showing your own. Seen a few on opinions, and one of tattoos on other people.

I have two. But this is the be that means the most to me.

It is a memorial tattoo for my Grandad.
Last memory of him was playing A game of cards. And he was a royal marine during WW2. So I had my tattooist combine the 2 to give me this.
there is a lot more detail than you can see in the pic. Around the Laurel, crown and anchor.

I have (amongst others) the freedom dove with a banner under wiht my first wifes name on.. Julie... My second wife (Diane) paid for the name in the banner to be covered up ..just the name..... complete waste of time as my Third wifes name is Julie (diff woman to first).. damm! :)

True...

I have the odd tattoo. Lower and upper arms, upper right shoulder blade, lower back, elbow, ankle, bottom :D, oh, and inside my lower lip

Always wanted more...but I decided to take up photography...:shake:

Cheers.

I have two birds on my chest, in black and grey with their rib cages showing. I also have a realistic heart with demon wings on my hip.

I'm getting some more birds on my lower arms, a big piece on my right thigh and memorial/james stewart tattoo for my grandad on my upper arm... Just need to find the money to invest in them.

I have a upper right arm Japanese flowers and waves as a cover up of some awful tattoo mistakes I had when I was 16. On the under arm (bicep) I have the lyrics from John legend - stay with you, which was our first dance song at our wedding. The lyrics tie in the flowers and I'm booked in to get a sunrise tattoo behind the lyrics which will also tie in with the lyrics. :)
I'm hoping to get more work on my other arm sometime soon, but I keep spending my money on this pesky new hobby called photography !!!!! Lol.

Lol :)

I have a small dancing pint glass on my right shoulder blade - all of us in the uni rugby club had them done before graduation (many many years ago) - apart from Lee who had a tasmanian devil on one of the cheeks of his arse , like you do

the moral of that story being never get a tatto done during an all day drinking session

Mine's on my avatar. I've had some major obstacles ( and still have some others) to get past in my life, hence Ganesh looking over my shoulder.

I have a couple of self done tattoos, one on my left leg and one on my left forearm (i'm right handed) but felt i needed something on my right hand side to balance it out so had one done professionally on my right forearm :D

I have 5 :D

My second one was just a squiggle type doodle thing that I got. I was bored one day when I used to work in a bar and doodled it on a napkin. Thought I would get it done as a tattoo. It has a little bit of blue in it and was my "Something Blue" for my wedding

My first and third are the clichéd Chinese symbols, one means Promise (or Vow) as I promised my Mum & Dad that I wouldn't get a tattoo. The other is my name.

My 4th is our rugby club crest

My 5th is a rose and Fleur de lis entwined to symbolise my French and English heritage, a sort of different take on the "Mum & Dad"

I've wanted one for years and years.. And never got around to it.

Then when I hit 40 eek I thought to hell with it I'm having one.. So I started looking at different things but being an artist I wanted something unique of my own design (which is the reason I never just went and got one).

So I came up with one.. Then started looking for a tattooist (I just wouldn't be happy walking into any old one knowing if they made the slightest mistake I'd see it straight away and it would eat away at me).. Then I came across Louis Molloy (the guy that did a lot of Beckhams) and decided he was the one I wanted regardless of cost.

Anyway I had to talk him into it as he can obviously pick and choose what he takes on now.

So I'm getting it done.... Next August!! The joys of being at the top of your game I guess.. A year long waiting list.

Epic story I know but I can't wait now.

Like Kel, I have just a random doodle design just above the outside of my left wrist. Had a mid-life crisis kinda thing at 40 and had always wanted one. Want another one....a Latin phrase, but don't know where or when :)

I have two, done 25 & 22 years ago respectively. The first on my right shoulder blade is a humming bird on a flower, but the with a 'fault' - the beak has a slight lump in it where I twitched just he ran over the bone with the outline, but I still love it  Not sure he was necessarily the best tattoo artist in the world
The other is a simple and small rose top of left arm. Both are from a disreputable youth, neither have ever been regretted and both were deliberately done in places that in normal day to day clothing, would be pretty much hidden, only being displayed when I want them to be - back then, that was whenever I could annoy my mum and dad with them

I've got quite a few! Love tattoos, they do get addictive! My fave is two pocket watches, chain entwined through both, times on them are when my two little ones were born. Their initial on the face or their respective watch! It's monotone with loads of shading.....proper good job! IMHO :)

First one was a little over 30 years ago and is Garfield chewing on a :) badge saying "Have a nice day" and is on my left cheek. About 6 months later, having lost some friends to SMIDSY drivers, I had a skull put into my left shoulder.

Skip forward about 25 years, when I had Nikos Kazantzakis's (author of Zorba the Greek, Last Temptation of Christ et al.) epitaph on my right shoulder (in Greek, as it's inscribed on his tombstone) followed soon after by Cape Diem on the left, in memory of Dad who had many plans "to do when I've got time". Most recently (on Monday), I had a dolphin copied from a photograph of the fresco on the wall of the Queen's Megaron in the Palace of Knossos in Crete along with a few fish escorting it etched into the right shoulder. All so far invisible when dressed in pants and a t-shirt. Tempted to have a tiny 20/04/07 along with my wife's name under where my wedding ring sits but haven't made up my mind yet.

Twenty something years ago, my wife had a very small purple tulip put on her chest (left side) just above bra level but after 20+ years, the colour had faded so much that it was no longer as purple as once it was, so rather than have it refilled, she decided on a cover up, a slightly larger Lilly flower. Far better executed than the old one and modern inks last much longer. She has no plans for anything more.

eagle on left chest
eagle on right upper arm
woody woodpecker on left upper arm
flower on right lower arm (soon to be covered over with kickass celtic design)
Pearl Jam 'stickman' on left lower arm with Hannah above and chinese symbol meaning 'daughter' below it
'in memory of mam' in fancy writing left inner arm
chinese symbol meaning 'husband' on back shoulder
Live(as in the band) left lower leg with a kickass celtic design around it
Placebo(as in band) down lower right leg still yet to design kickass celtic design to go around it

These descriptions are all very well, but can we have some photos please :D

Lol. Exactly what I was thinking! Sounds like some cracking tattoos. But let's see them.

Sorry about the quality of the first 2 - hard to take a snap of your own buttock and the shoulder of the hand you're trying to snap with! (My excuse to which I'm sticking!)

I have 8 professional ones, both arms, upper & lower. both shoulder blades, lower back & right calf.

Oh & a self done one from when I was 14 with photocopying ink & a sewing needle on the inside of my right calf!:D I was going to get this covered up but then decided that it has been their that long that it has become part of me.

I love tattoos and I have quite a few

my best friend is a tattoo artist and she did this which is my current fave

her website doesn't get updated much but you can find her on facebook

Oooh very liking this one :)

Which one? The dolphin & fish are the most recent and are seperate from the Greek script. Somewhere further down this OOF section is a thread which gives a link to the larger picture I adapted the dolphin one from (or search Knossos dolphins as a picture search and find several different views). As for the Greek script, search Kazantzakis epitaph and find this... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Kazantzakis_Grab.jpg

I've long been a lover of Crete, both as a holiday destination and as an ancient culture. Having seen the site at Knossos several times (including a replica of the picture in situ) and the actual picture in the museum in Heraklion, I feel some attachment to it and decided it was a better representation of freedom than my old plan for a converted photo of a buzzard. As you may have spotted, I have taken a little artistic license with the original and added a few fish as well as removing one or 2 and turning some around (so the whole group is better balanced than the original and all facing forward on my arm!). Seen plenty of dolphin tattoos but not sure I'll ever see one like mine, although if you want the artwork, it can be arranged!

Always wanted one, but I've never quite been able to settle on a design that I really want (or where I want it, or who I'd trust to do it )

Keep the pics coming though. You never know, I might get inspired by something in this thread. I do really like Alan's watch design - that's totally different to anything I've seen before and very arty.

I have 5 tattoos done.

A tiger on my upper left arm, 2 tribal on my upper right arm (they mix into one) on my left shoulder I have a beautiful Indian squaw and on my right shoulder I have an Indian chief in full headdress

I have 3.

One says Skate & Destroy.

NUmber 2 is traditional style, 2 swallows flying out of a rose with a banner saying never regret as a tribute to my Gran.

Last is an Record player with roses behind, again in a traditional style.

Next is a Anchor for my son, possibly with some other stuff and I am going to get an owl and the pussycat half sleeve done at some point on my other arm.

I have a half sleeve(forearm) which consists of a koi, water, waterlily flower and cherry blossoms , I also have a geisha on my right pec surrounded by more waterlilys, this will all join together when the top of my arm is done. I have my partners name at the bottom of my neck , I plan to add my little girls names underneath, I have a little crappy dragon on my right arm along with the sentence "sh!tbags mate" underneath(long story) and finally I have a griffin type creature on my right leg.

And I'm booked in at the end of the month for more!
