Ive been playing about with off camera flash alot recently with my Canon 430EX II and Cactus V4 triggers, all is well and good but havnig just purchased 2 umbarellas im contemplating getting another flash (or 2) just something cheap that if i drop it and it breaks i chuck it and get another...

more of a disposable flash as some may call it...

ive been looking today and i dont want to part with £199 on the canon model, i dont think the power is really good enough for outdoor use (but i can get over that with a cheaper model)

so ive been looking at THESE are they going to be good enough for light brolly use, im not looking into making any money from this so the maximum i want to spend on 2 flashes is £100... as far as i can read and search i cant find anything REALLY bad...

help me oh knowledgable people!
 
buy it - such excellent value for money. Mine has fallen in a mud, onto rocks, blown over in the wind.... and it still works brilliantly.

Make sure you get the metal foot version
 
production switched to metal foot before christmas. MOst should be metal foot versions, but just ask the seller before hand.
 
the 565 will be quite a different beast, its ETTL for starters. I'd guess it will be over £90 too.

Also, buying a newly released YN isnt the wisest thing to do, it seems they release batches what ever the QA says, so you may be getting prototypes / first runs which could have issues.

Get a Canon 277t or something similar, got mine for £1, really great flash, seems to have faster flash duration than my SB600 and almost exactly the same power.
 
I have one YN flash and Im looking to get 2-3 another and also YN triggers. They are just amazing for the money. You can't get anything better for the price. Even if it breaks I don't care and pick another one for 30quid

Think mine is in the same boat (wife though so she can't escape so easily) :/

I have the 460II and it's great for the money, not much point going with the higher models as none are PTTL compatible (yet).
 
ahhh ive been looking at the 560 because of the extra power ( Its all about power...)

the girlfriend now seems to be happy with the picture taking as the brolly makes everything look good, had a play last night with just my 430ex II
