No
I've recently returned to dscl for my prints but tonight I've sat for four hours uploading images to get printed. I'm thinking maybe the 6x4's and 7x5's can be exported from LR in a smaller size to save time uploading. Would this be ok?

You haven't told us what you were uploading. Normally you re-size the images according to output purpose, eg 6" x 4" @ 300 dpi. You didn't do this?.

No I didn't do this. A while ago I was told on here not to re-size images using that method, although that was when ordering a 30x20 canvas. Last night I was ordering prints rangimg from 6x4 upto 20x16.

Resize each image for purpose before uploading. It's basic. 20Mb for a 6"x4" is ridiculous!

If I order a 9x6" photo I size it 2700x1800px @300dpi
Alway been spot on for me, it's the pixels that matter the printing company
Will advise on best dpi

dpi is a printing term (the dots on the paper) Images are sized in Pixels Per Inch (the number of pixels you want placed on each inch of that paper)

Small prints are normally fine sent at 300ppi. ppi x print size gives you the number of pixels you need.
As you get larger you can drop that a bit - the likes of a 30" print will look fine at 150ppi and even lower
