Oh here I go again. One quick question which is a follow on really from my other thread of last week.

In Photoshop CS2's ACR there is a drop down menu for you to choose what size image you want/need. Up until now I haven't even noticed it... Doh! It is set (not by me) at 2912 by 4368 (12.7mp). The options in the menu are as follows:-
1024 x 1536 (1.6mp)
1365 x 2048 (2.8)
2048 x 3072 (6.3)
2731 x 4096 (11.2)
2912 x 4368 (12.7)
3413 x 5120 (17.5)
4096 x 6144 (25.2)

What do they all mean? Yeah, Yeah, okay I'm thick and perhaps I should already know but..... I dunno

I am now worried that if size matters (down Janice) then I have just spent 2 hours preparing an image for canvas effect at 40"x30" at the above size. Should I have increased the size to its maximum in ACR for this image?

Pleeze help me. I had better not do any more until you peeps get back to me. Thanks Gillian

Are all you peeps that fed up with me asking stupid questions about RAW that you are ignoring me? Surely someone can help, pleeeeeze, pretty please. grovel, beg oh! what the heck - I'll cope on my :'( own :'(

LOL I don't use CS2 ACR Gilly, but hang in there I'm sure someone will come to your rescue. :)

ACR is Adobe Camera RAW.

If you have an 8mp camera then if you set that at 8mp you will transfer it to photoshop at the size it went into Camera RAW.
If you want to upsize then apparently ACR is a good place to do it (a small bit of it anyway)
I dont think it would be a problem to use the next size up from what is your native size.

No doubt I will be corrected....but the basics are there!

Hi Gilly
Not only have I never noticed it, I don't know what ACR means! (Me, thicko).

Sorry Photostar_1. I hate people who use abreviations, and there's me using them.

Thanks Janice. I suppose when I think about it, it makes sense to set the field with the same as your camera's size (5D is 12.8mp's) - Phew! panic over as it was set at the correct size.
