Yes
I have never tried to bracket, but I would love to give it a go. I'm too impatient and find it too fiddly to faff about with grads.

I only have Lightroom 5 installed on my Mac, so to have an add on for that would be great. I am open to using another program if it can achieve a better result tho.

I don't want to create ghastly looking HDR shots.

Any advice?

Photomatix is a hdr program but the images don't have to look 'ghastly' The trick is in the settings, you can make the images look as normal-ish as you want.
Photoshop also has a merge to hdr option, again it's down to the settings, although I find I get much better results in Photomatix.

I will take a look at photomatix, thanks for that suggestion. I don't have any version of Photoshop, so that's out of the options.

That's what I've been using currently Matt. It certainly helps, especially with landscapes but it doesn't solve all my problems where the dynamic range of a raw file just doesn't cut it.

When you get Photomatix, it comes as a stand alone program and also a plugin for PP.

I've downloaded the trial and i'm very happy with it and it's ease of use.

Thank you Gents.

+1 for photomatix

Photoshop can do it too. But with less creative flares

LR Enfuse in LR5, much prefer it to Photomatix etc, much more natural IMHO. I hate badly done HDR, but this is exposure fusion, similar but I much prefer it. It gives you a rather flat looking result but it's a good starting point.
Previously used SNS-HDR before that. http://www.sns-hdr.com/
