what do you guys recomened for printing your pics? looking at getting a printer dont think anything bigger then a4 will be needed, under £100 is what I am looking at speending is this realistic? also dont want to end up buying a cheap printer then finding the ink cartridges cost more then the printer!!

have a look at the Canon IP4300

only £59 too

thanks guys I see both these printer use 5 and 6 cartridges :gag: do these give better results then the old 1x colour 1 x black. ?? see the cartridges are not a bad price on ebay but wonder if they are anygood!!

i'm not sure if the give better results, but you only have to replace the colour that has run out not all three.

The prints from the IP4300 really are very good. Canon will print a picture of your choice from the printer you're thinking of buying and post it to you, so that you can see the results for yourself!

great link thanks, just been reading a printer review, in this months photplus, and the canon pixma mp610 comes out tops ( but it 9is the dearest :'( ) but saying that the prints work out the cheapest, swings and round abouts

according to the Canon website, they have the same print resolution, but the Mp610 is a little quicker.

I think with the MP610 you're paying extra for the scanner and colour LCD screen. maybe not for the quality of the print.

I'm sure someone will put me right otherwise :)

Don't worry about quoted costs per print, you can buy oem ink for both makes much more cheaply than original stuff. Carts for my Epson come in at around £8 per set of six.

well it looks i am going to buy the ip4300, best price at the moment is £54, but I hope to buy locally just in case there is ever a problem just waiting for a couple of companys to get back to me with a price.

I use Asda they are much better than Epson / Canon or HP and cheaper by the print.. ok you have to wait 24hrs.. lol
