I am planning a break in Torcross Devon in October. Much to my partners dismay photography will be high on my to do list.
What should I not miss while I am there?
I will be using a Canonn 450D with kit lens, 55-250 IS and brringing my Sigma 105 macro and sigma 500 DG super flash. And playing a lot with a 10 stop filter.

So from my equipment list you can probably surmise I am still new to this and haven't quite decided what I want to photograph. I generally try to capture anything and everything.

Any and all suggestions welcome, preferably within 1 1/2 hrs drive.

Slapton Sands, Dartmouth, Brixham (including Mifsuds!), Torbay, prawle Point,Salcombe/Kingsbridge estuary, Burgh Island, Dartmoor. Depending on weather, that should be enough for a couple of weeks. If your partner demands some retail therapy, Plymouth, Torbay and Exeter are all within easy reach and offer some photographic opportunities. Have a look at Google Earth and zoom in to find the blue squares - see any you like and you can go there and put your interpretation of the scene to the location.

I would suggest a trip to Brixham, which is about 40 mins drive away. There is plenty to photograph at the harbour, and there are plenty of shops nearby that your partner could spent some time while you are photgraphing the many scenes on offer.
I never get fed up of the place, which we have been to many times.

Not much to add to Nod’s list, but teasing out Dartmoor a bit more, southern side you have some nice granite outcrops, dark rivers and ancient forests– look for Haytor, Hound Tor, Becky Falls, Two Bridges, Dartmeet and Wistman's Wood, to name justa couple – I also like Buckfast butterfly farm which also has an otter sanctuary as well as a steam railway at the same location!

Many thanks for all the suggestions, I will check in to them before we go. As to my partner getting some retail therapy, who would be carrying my gear?
