Hi folks,

I've not been on for a long while. Health issues and dealing with surgeries etc have totally focused (no pun intended honest) away from photography. That and trying to manage two kids who are developing there own wants and needs has pulled me in multiple directions.

Whilst I've been wanting to take more photos I've found a sticking point on what to do kit wise going forward. I have a Canon 20D and 28-70mm L to play with at the moment. The majority of what I'll be shooting is the usual family photos of the kids. dog etc. My son also plays ice hockey and I did try taking the above combo to the rinks. However the short focal length and lack of real high iso annoyed the life out of me.

With that in mind and a bit of an absence from photography I'm not sure what way to go kit wise. Do I stick with Canon but upgrade to a newer body or jump to the Nikon D7200. Regardless I know I need a 70-200 F2.8 for the indoor ice hockey. I also fancied looking at CSC systems but the autofocus still appears not to be at the same level as DSLR? I seen one guys blog shooting NHL with a Fuji XT-1 but not sure how that would work in the poorer lit rinks of Scottish Ice hockey lol. Budget wise I'm aiming to keep it all around £2k which means most kit will be second hand (well I priced Nikon D7200, Sigma 17-50mm F.28 and Sigma 70-200mm OS, Grip and extra battery from Digital Rev so all new). I've tried to price up kit from MPB too but probably looked so long I've pickled my brain trying to decide what to do!

Any thoughts or suggestion would be greatly appreciated!
