What New Gear Have You Purchased This Week?

Vivitar 35mm f2.5 turned up today (along with a weird adaptor with T-PS wrote on it  )

The postman cannot come quick enough. Delivery is an estimated Dec 23rd, hope I have it for Christmas.

Just bought a FlashBender as a present from my two sons - they think their Mum bought it for them to give to me :-)

While in the shop I had a long play with a 5Dmk111 and a 24-105L I escaped with just the Flashbender - just!

A Velbon Sherpa 450r So far so good, can't fault it for the price and it's sturdy enough for my 60d with grip.

I also picked up a cheap kong Monopod..

Very nice, I'm hoping to shuffle my existing medium range zooms early next year and get one of these. Just got to save up the difference for the part ex first.

I am, however, waiting for my local DPD driver to arrive (between 14.12 and 15.12 this afternoon) and drop off my new Canon 300 f4L IS. I can't wait to try it out on my 70D and 5D3 but I might have to wait a while to give it a good test as the light will be going by the time I get it. This is the last photography related thing I'm buying this year (unless I win the lottery between now and the new year) but I'm getting an Eos M kit for christmas so I'll try that with the 300 when I can.

Fuji XF1 as an everyday carry camera.
Oh, and those Yongnuo 560mk3s are ace. I have 2 of them and a 602 trigger and I'm chuffed to bits with them. Don't miss ETTL at all.

A better walk about lens for my Nikon D7000, a Tamron 17-50 2.8 non VC.
Only got it today so have just taken a few test shots and it seems I have a very good copy, so I'm happy for now :woot:

Also my brother has lent me an OM1 so looking forward to running a roll or two through it.

Taken with the Tammy @ 3200 2.8 1/100

Merry Christmas

We ALL tell ourselves that :)

I only make outlandish statements when there's less than 2 weeks of this year left and I've got no money left anyway so I can't get anything else 'This Year'

I got my 300 f4L IS yesterday afternoon but only managed to get a few test shots done, in a less than ideal situation (dark and inside), but the shots were amazingly sharp. I even tried my 2x MkIII converter on it and although it was awfully slow to AF the shots are still very sharp. I can't wait to actually get it out in the field and test it out properly. I tried it on my 70D as well and tried it on Liveview for focussing and it's pin sharp on the screen, unlike the Sigma I part ex'd for it so I'm WELL chuffed.

Feels rather nice quality and is thick, giving the camera a nice protective cover. Theres a tripod screw on the bottom that goes into the camera itself for stability, plus its a rather nice fit. Got a leather wrist strap already for it, but have a matching neck/shoulder strap (also black leather) coming from south korea!

For the extra 5mm
And just to have it
And for the slighlt less lens distortion at the edges
:-)

^thats why you dont buy iphones :)

That's either a very old iphone or it's faulty (or user error/processed to death in some awful iPhone app), that isn't anywhere near what an iPhone can produce.
