What Made Your Day Today?

Well, the rain's stopped and the sun's shining but I've got to wait in for a visitor for the wife.

It is. Now I am away to find out if the parts have arrived to fix the saw. Hopefully up & running by tomorrow.

Not so good now. They sent the wrong part :bang::bang::bang:

Today in Derbyshire, I made a new friend!!

But she was very shy!!

My day has been made by waking up with 4 year old grandson next to me (sleepover at mine) and now him and the dog (Dalmation) are tearing around the garden playing silly sods and laughing n giggling :)

I was pouring red squirrel food into a feeder this morning while a red sat beside me & was munching on the food when it dropped down. Then it sniffed my hand before carrying on with breakfast.
Later this morning two Stoats were having a real roll about just outside the mill door.

Then I got the part for my saw (5 day breakdown) It is still not right but I will make it fit!

Two out of three is not too bad though!

Now you have an Enfield you might find this interesting.

I have a friend who is just back from a trip to India with them. He said it was brilliant & would like to do it again.

Thanks for the link, although I can't see myself doing one of their tours. Might consider riding down to our normal holiday destination (with ferries when necessary) of Crete but flying is more likely (and probably more ecologically sound as well). Hoping that a friend there might put his plan of running tours of the island into action - might even consider working there if he does! (he was talking about buying a fleet of REs and doing guided tours with accomodation sorted and van support in case of breakdowns or piles!). Mind you, he's now married with 3 kids and a bar (as well as a thriving e-bay based spares business) so might have ditched the tours plan.

Well I got a hug from a young lady today. Though not the same young lady as earlier in the week.
Got the saw fixed! That has been a week without making sawdust.:(

On the down side. Somebody took my picture astride a Royal Enfield.:help:

My daughter  just came back from a 35 days' summer holiday in the US, arrived 7:00am this morning. The trips was her 16th birthday gift from her grandmother.

I find it harder to be away from her, as I grow older; don't know how I'm going to cope when she goes off to university .

Hope she had an amazing time, what a fab gift to have. My youngest has opted to do Uni closer to home which is a blessing in disguise I think :)

Two things have made my day and made me smile today

Beating personal challange on cross trainer - not much to others but good for me

and

standing by bedroom widow after gym neekid and breeze blowing through .. was heavenly just before shower, lol and made me smile to myself (and hope net did not blow up lol).

She's had a blast of a time, that's for sure :); got spoilt rotten by her grandmother and aunt

As for Uni., thank God, she's keen on doing that in UK, which is more home than home; but still, it means she'll be there, and that's a good few hours flight away, and away from home :bat:.

Kids grow-up, it's a fact of life; I wish they didn't :p, they make for excellent pets and Sherpas

I found out i didn't make as much of a muppet of myself as i thought i did last night.

I'm never drinking again.

My mother is paying for our family to fly to South Africa. We haven't seen our family in 2.5 years and kids are looking forward to see their grandparents. So in a short day of wondering what to do for the summer holidays we have gone from being bored to preparing to fly out on Wednesday!!

After chasing my 4 year old daughter down a hill on her scooter she looks up at me and sees that I am all hot, sweaty and out of breath and said "Daddy would you like to stand on my scooter and I will push you back home"

#1, seeing my photos in AP as a part of their Masterclass series (as a participant in one of their days out).

#2, getting my shiny new desktop PC up and running - just playing the drivers game now.

Hand slid off a log as it was going through the saw. Hand hit running bandsaw blade!
I got away with it!
Note to self. Pay attention.

I get sad when old cars go, I belive my very first Ford Escort I cried over lol, dontated it to the local Fire Station to practice on.

Taking bike over the park today and finding I could still ride a bike and did not fall off it ... but my goodness that saddle is going to take some getting used to lol.

That today I fly up to Scotland (Glasgow) to see my friend and have a blast :)

I had my hair cut & a girl told me I looked sexy.
She is going to Specsavers tomorrow.

There is a nice Polish couple that live beside my sawmill. This morning their first baby was born. Both well. I am fair chuffed for them.
