Hey all,
I’m re applying lube to my gimbal head as the lube that came with it is wayyyyy to thick!

What stuff do you think I should get? As I have no clue where to start?

Thanks for any help
Nick

I think Steve @sk66 might be your man to answer this.......he as I recall did that with at least one gimbal in the past year or so.

You could try using a thin coating of a silicone brake grease... the main thing is that you want it to be high heat and thick enough that it doesn't melt/leak.
The stuff I used was for repacking a fluid head; your requirements probably aren't as specific.

What thread size is it? My tripod had I think the smaller 3/8 thread? If I need an adaptor will it still be flush with the tripod you recon?

If that gimbal is one of the Chinese ones then they use a type of silicone instead of grease .and its bloody horrible . I think mieke ones are the worst . They are not serviceable imho

It is 3/8th standard fitting and yes it would be flush if the adapter was used as it fits into a slight recess .
Rob.
