What looks like moisture drops on glass

Hey folks,

Bit of a problem here. I was using my Canon 300mm lens on Saturday and I opened the box it is kept in to clean it on Monday, but I noticed small marks on the glass, however they seem to be on the inside of the front glass.

It looks like dried moisture droplets (very small) and oddly all in a straight(ish) line. It wasn't raining on Saturday, but that is what it looks like.

Anyone have any tips on what the best action is or have they had this problem before? :help:

I know the glass, at a cost of course, can be replaced, but just wondering if it can be easily taken care of.

Thanks as always.

Sounds like it's sucked in a bead of water which gave it the line appearance. You have two options, look online for a repair guide and do it yourself or contact a company like Fixation etc :-) Front elements are usually very easy to remove, just be very careful and have some decent lens cleaner to hand :)

Does it show up on your pictures?

If not, I would leave well alone.

Thankfully all sorted this morning :D

Thanks for taking time to give advice.

Glad it`s all sorted now  This one did not do so well when it fell in a lake
