Hi all
I can't make up my mind what Canon lens to get for portraiture the 85mm or 100mm or go macro which would give me the best of both worlds with the 60mm macro or 100mm macro but I'm trying to keep the price around £300. Any ideas

85mm is the classic length on Full Frame but really it depends on your available shooting space and also what your camera is.

I Canon 7D and just mainly shooting in house or someone else's and outside

In which case you may find a 50mm might do the job, unless you live in a mansion or a barn.

Maybe but I'm still drawn towards the 60mm macro
Get it then. In practical terms the difference between 50mm and 60mm when you're taking portraits is negligible. Half a step forwards or half a step backwards - not worth worrying about.
