Surely that will give you less zoom than the standard canon lens? i had the Sigma and it wasnt a bad lens especially for the money, i upgraded to the canon 70-300 IS that has a two mode stabilizer one for panning shots. Might be out your budget i dont know. Or if you have even more money then some L glass?

well looking about there going on ebay from £50 - £200 for both lenses so thats my budget really

The Sigma goes for £100 ish (ive just sold mine on for that) there was one on AV Forums for about that earlier anyway. As i said for the money i was quite impressed. I cant comment on the Sigma but another option is possibly look for the Canon 18-55 IS kit lens that comes with the 450d they crop up fairly regularly and are supposed to be a lot better than the kit lens (assuming its the 18-55 you have?)

my 350 has the 18-55mm on it as standard also :)

You'll need at least 200mm for motorsport really. I can definately recommend the Canon EFS 55-250 IS. Look at my thread below to see some examples of motorsport pics I've taken with it;

You can pick them up new for under £200.

the Canon EF 70-300mm is very good too, though more expensive...

Incidentally, is that not the secret new Porsche saloon you've caught testing at the Nurgburgring??

yes it is ;) that was last June when i took the pictures :lol: have plenty of other cars aswell that where "testing" ;)

Your pictures are brilliant just the style im trying to capture myself :thumbs: thanks for the advice :)

No worries! Have a look online, the 55-250 can go for as little as £150. I'd say the only downside is low light performance indoors (as I think its f5.6 max at the top end) but for motorsport thats not a problem as its all outdoors!
