What lens for portable studio work

Hi,
I plan to take pictures at events with my 450d and portable gemini studio kit. I would love some advice on which lens would be a good allrounder.

I do have the kit lens and the so called nifty fifty.

Would like to be able to take portraits and group shots without always having to change the lens

your kit lens should do that, or upgrade to a 17-55 f2.8

You will be looking for something along the lines of a 17 - 55, 24 - 70, 24 - 105 in terms of focal length. An f2.8 lens wouldn't be necessary as you have a studio kit...but might be useful if you plan on doing natural light shots at all!
