I at the moment only got my canon 17 - 40 L which is the widest lens I got and I know it actually 17mm on the crop sensor..

What other Wides lens that is good for my 40d but wont break the bank

If you can get a good one, the Sigma 10-20 is said to be pretty amazing and wont break the back, then there is the Tokina 11-16 and the 12-24.

I would have thought though that the 17mm end would be alright for Landscapes?

It a very good lens truly is but think i like to go wider sometime... What is the 10mm on a 40d?

with the crop sensor, it would be 16mm, unlike the 17mm which would be about 27mm

I use the 10-20mm Sigma on my 40D and it's great. My next widest starts at 17mm and is not nearly so good.

Have you a example of what you done with that sigma at widest please

I dont really shoot landscapes so just tried to advise as best i can, Badly! Haha!

My 17mm will be enough for anything i want to do, as i dont really take them. When i do ill look at adding a siggy 10-20 to my kit bad, although there are other lenses i really need before that! lol!
