What kind of sharpening does lightroom use (eg unsharp mask?)

Hi, what kind of sharpening method does Lightroom use? Does it use unsharp mask for example?

Am I better off sharpening in lightroom or in Photoshop? Lightroom is so much more convenient!

In Scott Kelby's book he gives settings which are generally good for unsharp mask being used on people photos, urban or landscape photos, and on general day to day photos. Does anyone have recommendations for settings for these types of photos when sharpening in Lightroom?

I do zero in camera sharpening and so do need to sharpen in post processing.
