What kind of lights?

There is a rather poor photo in my gallery, showing some lamps in a sports hall. Many sports halls I've been in tend to have horrible orange lamps. These seem to be white, almost like daylight lamps. But maybe they are just fluorescent? Its not too clear in the photo, but the lamps have a half-dome shade.

Any idea what they might be?

No idea, they could be anything.
Have you tried taking some test shots and seeing what you get?
It may or may not be possible to correct colour balance - if they are discontinuous spectrum lights (lacking in magenta) it may not be possible to correct them, but it's worth trying surely?

Thanks Garry. I don't know until I get there. Guessing that full spectrum/daylight are more expensive than others (certainly the ones I buy for home use are) , so maybe they are discontinuous as you alluded to.

I'll try and get in touch with someone at the facility.

In a sports hall? Probably sodiums. Sometimes they phase, ie you fire off four frames and you get four different colours. Ugh.

I tend to gel my flash kinda green, and shoot raw and pray...
