What kept you going when you first started togging?

Maybe I'm super tired....but you lost me :D

Anyway....this one, the first photo (complete fluke!)! :)

Yes, I can certainly see why that pic would get you hooked - it's a corker ! Would make a great print, too.

No, the image that I was thinking of is one that I saw when I first signed up to TP (around Dec 2008). It was a portrait of a gorilla (from Edinburgh zoo, I believe. Maybe that's where I got confused ;)), taken indoors with a dark purple background and some very cool lighting across the eyes and face :). I seem to remember that the person who posted it said that they were quite new to photography and there was a flood of praise for his efforts from all kinds of noteable TPers.

Could it have been one of your posts, Gary - I really can't think who else here fits that description !?

the way I view photography is that it is a hobby for a lifetime, dont rush and dont expect results immediately.

Take your time, read these forums, read the books that are reccomended and dont put too much pressure on yourself, the results will come :)

I don't suppose you fancy posting it again here do you, Gary? I haven't seen it for ages :).

I will try and dig it out of my archive. I really regret binning my flickr collection (3 or 4 times!)....means I can't see progress (if any :D)

Mr Pete Carr warned me not to do it. The ******* was right. I miss Pete.
