what is your Photography dream?

Been a pro, many years ago,but sometime the pressure of turning out work, dont forget bills still have to be payed even if you love your job, that sometime, the photography that personal your work, not for somebody eles, get left behind.

Lost over half my stock photos :(

So i would have to say the time & money to finish of the personal project, that never got started or finish :)

And to still have my health & passion to still keep taking my cameras out every day :)

My dream is to have the time and resource to be able to take photos on my own terms.

I am not and probably never will be in this to sell pictures or even get recognition. While both of these would be nice, I'd rather not have the pressure of having to produce work to sell to pay the bills.

More realistic dreams are to, in time, win something like the country file contest, I aspire to a commendation in the Wildlife photographer of the year, but currently as likely as my above dream.

To be able to take photography holidays around the world. Need time more than anything else really. Extra money would help. Portrait, wild life and landscapes I am after.

As a lifelong aviation enthusiast and glider pilot, also ex military with more than a few rides in helicopters/Hercs etc, I have always dreamt of buying a helicopter and Hasselblad and specialising in aerial photography around the world. air to ground, and air to air. Of course a small lottery win would be required to get it of the ground!

That was my big mistake, when I went pro, when your doing it for somebody else, sometime you have to do it on their terms,so I had my commercial work the money jobs, would paid for my own personal projects, which cause a strain on my relationship,my other half wanting to spend the money on other thing, and her wanting me to do more commercial work, where I was never in for the money,my personal ment more to me :)

My dream was to work for a magazine and have my work published regularly, i've achieved that so the next thing I want to do is take my photography around the world and get paid for such work..

always tackle on thing at a time and you'll slowly reach the top.

I work around the world doing what I'm good at, but that's not a challenge once you're good at it! I travel as I'm needed, not because I'm wanted (Service engineers are seen as an unwanted expense!) I am a provider by nature... I volunteer in a role which others do for a living as I get a sense of doing good and providing a service, but this role is also necessary, but in a different way... I have been inspired by my wedding photographer, who I would have even moved my wedding for... Not just because he's a fantastic photographer, bit I wanted HIM, as we clicked so well, and I wanted his passion, enthusiasm and technical ability which is what I believe I have in common with him... Selling photos is business, capturing moments for other people who every time they look at them it brings back *that* feeling... Whatever, wherever... Is what I want to do. (my 5p's worth ;) )

Make a living solely from photography and get paid to follow F1 round the world! :)

The difficult we can do immediately,
the impossible will take a bit longer,
but making a living from BOTH photography AND F1 ...???

Yer 'avin a Giraffe mate! :D

To see one of my photos published in National Geographic. Which reminds me, I really should start submitting some!

You need to take some decent ones first! :p

Traveling for work is not what its cracked up to be... I was actually up for working with F1, but being away 6 days starting every other week for a whole season would have been bloody hard (even as a singleton which I was!!) I'm glad Bernie pulled F1 digital when he did!

To gain a better understanding to improve my "keeper" rate and to get consistently good images that I am happy with.

I guess like most people I would liove to be able to seel a few images and cover some of the ever expensive costs of this flamin addictive hobby

On my US roadtrips I love photographing the old classic cars that I often see in fields, rusting away, abandoned, unwanted. Just once I'd like to open the boot of one - and find a sizeable holdall stuffed with, say, $5m.

That's the same thing isn't it? I make my living from photography, and enjoy it very much. Same goes for everyone I know.

Anyway, that's for another thread. :)

Sorry, I should have said I'd rather enjoy taking pics of what I'd like to take pics of for my Photography. A subtle difference, but a difference. Anyway, no one's asking me, and I have to ambition to do it, so no need to consider such things.

I'm glad that you are enjoying your work. :)

Hmmm, I've achieved several of the things I've set out to do already - published in magazines, got the ARPS distinction, sold photos, etc, so the only other thing I'm after doing is having an exhibition. I've got all the information I need, and the images in mind, just need to prepare the proposal and send it off, something I've been intending to do for about 18 months.............

Become a photographer to have women swoon over you? (My fave)

lol, good luck with anyone who's dream is this! All the women I know would be swooning over the fact you are a photographer about as much as they would over a train spotter!

My dream is to own a gallery in my local town selling landscape prints of the local area and have it open for only a few hours a day during the weekend

thats my plan when i retire anyway

1) Have an exhibition

2) Be asked to do a portrait shoot for either Vogue or Vanity Fair

To be the in house photographer at the playboy mansion.

:thumbs::love:

Seriously,

To be able to wake up each morning doing a job i love & adore whilst making enough money to give my wife & kids (when they arrive) a fantastic life

I would settle for consistency at present.

I just want my wife to say 'love that shot' when it doesn't contain either her horses or our Grandchildren. Forlorn hope...

To be successful enough for my wife to stop working.
