What is your fav photography buy of all time????

My best buy is probably the fuji s9500 I brought purely out of impulse with my christmas savings I had in my pocket at the time... Didn't know what it was I just wanted the biggest and mostest mega watsits for my cash. Never taken a photo seriously before I purchased that and for a long time it sat in the box because I couldn't figure out how to use the bloody thing and I didn't yet have a pc.. It did however get me hooked and made me determined to learn more about photography. As i learnt more it opened my eye's to the camera's limitations and the fact that I could not change the lens as an upgrade route led me to my first DSLR at the end of last year..

sorry for the mini essay...:D

I had a lot of lenses, but the two i am in love are the Canon 85 f 1.2 L (1st or 2nd version, are both fantastic) and Canon 35 1.4

From the day I had sold it, i dream the two L every night

Probably my Pentax ME Super....there is something special about your first SLR and the pentax was great to learn on.

Followed closely by my 500 f4 at £3500 brand spanking new.

My D80. Not the camera I see myself with in five [or maybe even two] year's time, but switching from my EOS350D to the D80 taught me that I prefer both the Nikon ergonomics, and the on-body control it affords is still awesome.

Coupled with the instant feedback that digital provides, it taught me as much in the first few months about photography than the previous decade with my Dad's Ricoh and Praktika SLR's.

My Sigma 105 macro, opened up a whole new world :)
Since also got the 150 as well, but still use the 105 a lot

A KATA rucksack.

It was starting to get really embarrassing carrying everything around in Lidl carrier bags.

70-200 2.8 IS, bodies will come and go, but this baby is for life!

A Loupe from InvisibleDust, makers of Artic Butterfly, one of the" must haves "for checking for dust on sensors. Having bought one with the kit I can vouch for its amazing sensor inspection quality.

My first introduction to NIKON... My F401. Still have it!

Since then my D300.. All the camera I think I will ever need!

Tough one,
50mm f/1.4 has to be up there, it may as well be glued on and, well, if you have to you can shoot at f/1.4 :)

My Canon D30

My very first camera that used to produce some amazing pictures, upgraded to the 10d 2 years after and 2 years after that which is present day 30D which i love too

A toss up between my Canon 24-105 and my Canon 400mmf5.6

One day it will be my Canon 500mm f4......

......................................one day.

I have a picture of it on the wall above my desk.

1. D700
2.28-70 2.8(nikon)
3.70-200VR

My Canon AE-1, bought as a replacement for the Praktika MTL3 that fell off the Bivi Ledge on the Aiguille du Midi. Went everywhere with me for the next couple of years until I was mugged for it in London.

Its GOT to be my Praktica MTL 5.

It was my first proper camera (slr) bought from the original owner for a tenner, I love it to bits, and would never ever ever sell it!

ive got to thank it for everything that followed, photography related!:love::love::love::love:

but seriously.

400 f2.8 IS L

followed closely by its big brother

600 f4.0 IS L

that must be about 3000m to valley bottom?

It was certainly far enough that it wasn't worth bothering looking for it

I know they are pretty solid those old Praktika's but it'd taken 2 days climbing to get there and I think the first bounce was at around 250m.

Probably a tossup between my old Canon T90. Best camera I ever owned. Or, more recently my 100-400L zoom. Very very nice...

It's a tough choice between the Canon EOS 1000FN (I got when I was 21) and my first digital camera which was a Nikon point and shoot (when I turned 30).

All things considered, even though I still have the Canon, I'd have to go with the Nikon because in an instant it made photography just that little bit more accessible.
