Yes
Including lenses and body.

I am curious.

I would like to have a Canon 5D with the 100-400mm L lens, a 70-200 f2.8 L lens, 105mm macro, 50mm 1.4 lens, Sigma 10-20 mm and undecided on the rest. :D

I'm going to get a job, and after a few months of saving. Getting a 400mm 2.8.... looks awesome! (obv second hand)

Wouldnt mind a 1d (not because of the name) but 10fps would be ideal :)

A pocket camera around G9 size with say a 10 -1000 mm 2.8 optical zoom lens, with IS of course, and around a 31 mega pixel full frame sensor.

Sorry. :D

^^^^ what he said, but if it was nikon, i would just stick with a 1d mkIIIs

Haven't really got a dream camera tbh?...

I could just say yeah, i'd love to own a 1DS mk3 with a silly amount of lenses, but at the minute it'd be a waste.

I'm more than happy with my 400D, i've still not perfected everything it has to offer, which is why i'm unsure whether to upgrade the body to a 40D at the end of this year.

Quite easy.

D3
14-24mm f/2.8
24-70mm f/2.8
70-200mm VR f/2.8
400mm VR f/2.8

All Nikon

Leica MP + a 50mm Noctilux... Mmm...

But on the Nikon side:
D3 + FM3a
14-24mm f/2.8
27-70mm f/2.8
70-200mm f/2.8
400mm f/2.8
85mm f/1.4
50mm f/1.2
28mm f/1.4

i don't even have to talk,lol-identical = )

Hasselblad 503 CW + 80 + 40 + 120 + 150 + Phase One back.

I found the 150 became a paperweight once I got the 120 macro, you should think about swapping it for a slightly more wild choice. ;)

Right now for me I think a 10x8 machine would fit the bill. I keep dreaming about 10*8 contact prints. :D

I would either say a Nikon D300, or a Canon 1D MkIII

And all the L lenses that there is :D

Not sure what's in the blad line up these days as I'm a mamiya man myself but I got shot of the 150 for a 250, which at least gets some use.

If we are indeed still just talking about dream kits then a fisheye would be my choice instead.

If we're in the real world, then I found the 120 and the 150 too close to warrant having both, as with the pixel power of a digiback, there is usually enough scope to crop a little if I couldn't just move closer a tad.

My dream camera is a "KonicaMinolta A4" with FF sensor, 24-300mm F/2.8, 24 megapixels, ISO 12,800, with the form factor (size and weight) of the A2.

Mamiya RZ and phase one back and a large selection of lenses plus a 5x4 or 10x8 with or with out digital backs :D

The Sigma 10-20 will be EF-S and will not fit on a 5D which takes EF only. Put the 17-40L on the list instead as 17mm on full frame is pretty close to 10mm on a crop sensor body ;)

A (semi) realistic list:

  • A decent RB67 setup. (And the darkroom to go with it)
  • Zeiss Contax IIa/50mm f/1.5 Sonnar
  • Olympus E420/Pancake

A digi back on a 5x4 is a bit of a waste since it's only a 6*45 sensor. What you want are 5x4 and 10x8 cameras for your film shots and one of the really nice view cameras built just to take a digi back and short lenses. ;)

Quite easy.

D3

70-200mm VR f/2.8
400mm VR f/2.8

All Nikon

Second vote for that line up!!

Although, not sure what cameras they do these days, but waaaay back when I used film, I always had a yen for a Hasselblad and probably still do :D

Hasselblad H3D-II = 39MP

It's a toss-up between that or a full kit of Nikon gear......and new car (or two) :cuckoo:

It was tongue in cheek that I said a digital back for the 5x4 and 10x8, I used to love shooting on 5x4.

D300 with a 400 f2.8 on it and a 1.7 tc in my pocket.

Oh and my monpod.....

Ah, but this is my 'dream camera'. In dreams, one can change the rules :D

Anything that doesn't have N***n on it.

I never really get such sentiments. What is so heinous about Nikon that makes it un-ownable? Or such devotion to Canon that only they are usable?

I'm assuming the comment was tongue in cheek, but brand loyalty has always baffled me. Over the years I've shot Pentax, Minolta, Canon, Leica, Canon again, Panasonic, and recently Nikons. Go with what works.

Kate and everybody else, your dream camera is the one your using now the one you will use tomorrow or the day after, the images come from you the photographer so will the 3k 5k 10k or 20k plus camera make you a better photographer. OK for those with no DSLR and just starting out yes you need some kit but its not alway the most expensive camera that that take the best images but what will help is good glass in this department buy the best you can afford.

Just my three penny worth, rant over so I shall go now.

My dream camera would be the D300 but I'm waiting to see what the D80 replacement will be like.

Quite easy.

D3
14-24mm f/2.8
24-70mm f/2.8
70-200mm VR f/2.8
400mm VR f/2.8

All Nikon

Well that's clearly the 'best' set-up but I wouldn't like to have to carry it all. :gag:

For a practical, portable and convenient kit I can't find anything I like better than

D300
10-20mm Sigma
16-85mm VR Nikkor
70-300mm VR Nikkor
+ a few fast primes for situational use

Which by a happy coincidence is what I have. :)

A 5D with decent, light glass would be nice too.

Dream Camera
Alpa 12 SWA + Schneider Apo-Switar 5.6/36 mm lens
or
Haselblad 905 SWC
Any fast manual focus Nikon lenses would be nice.
