I wast deleting old random pics from my IMGUR account when I came across this screenshot I took about 18months ago. I really should I bought it, I mean I took a screenshot of it...

One main reason I don't own long telephoto is that I don't like small aperture lenses and I hate spending big bucks...

I wish I'd kept my Frogeye Sprite! However, a move into town with no secure parking made that a non starter so it had to go.

I wish I'd kept my second MX5. I had an SLK and I hated it so I ordered a Boxster and as this was when they first came out there was quite a wait so I bought an MX5 until the Boxster came. On the day I sold the MX5, just before the Boxster was delivered, I was driving to work on a really nice driving road and I thought I must be mad not to keep it. I could have cancelled the sale and sold the Boxster for a profit and I've regretted not doing that ever since.

Photography wise, nothing.

Never really regretted selling anything photographic.

Now guitars... Seeking my first decent guitar I tried out side by side a '72 telecaster and a dynelectron copy of a danelectro guitarlin - and bought the dynelectron. The tele would be worth a couple of thousand at least, but the dynelectron, diddly squat.

In hindsight, I'd like to have kept my 18-200 VR II that I bought brand new from a business that used to be on here. I sold it to go full frame, but ended up accidentally buying and keeping another APS-C body for an additional 8 years in the end. Bought another 18-200 VR II for that time until I did actually go full frame, and then sold that to fund a suitable walkabout lens (24-120 f/4).

Photographically my "Mamiya C330f" and lenses. It was the best film 6x6 camera I ever had. And by far the best film wedding camera of all time in my opinion.

I wish I'd kept this, the only new vehicle I have ever owned.

Scan of an enprint.

Interesting
I didn’t have a frog eye, but a mkIII that I’ve just given to the son in law as I’m too old to restore it.
And I had a Yamaha similar to the Kawasaki my best mate had (maybe a bit later than this in 1981).

It’s not exactly something I can’t rectify fairly easily, but when I bought my XF 100-400mm lens I sold the XC 50-230; in hindsight I should have kept it, as it’s optically pretty good, quite small, very light, and there are definitely times when the 100-400 is overkill.

If we’re talking about guitars though, then too many to list here!

I suppose the only lens I wish I’d kept was the old 28-105 which was great quality for the money, sold it when I went digital cos on a crop body 28mm was nowhere near wide. And it would have come in handy when I got the 6d.

It would have been lovely to mothball the Bronica ETRS kit, but I needed the money towards the Sprite, and genuinely never felt like shooting film since I went digital.

Passing on various XPans/Leica M6s (and Leica lenses)/premium 35mm point and shoots.

Shouldn't have let go of my Epson RD1 as well but 6mp was never going to be enough for my main digi if I wanted to shoot professionally. I could argue I never needed a higher MP digi in the first place as I'm about 90% film anyway.

Other than that, no regrets as I have everything I really want/need now, whenever I sell or trade a camera it's usually for an upgraded version of the old thing or something that I'll find more use for.
