Strustrum. You mf. :) Superb stuff. Brilliant. Listerned to each track several times and still can't make up mind.:) I mean 'Conjure Me' is brilliant but the last one with no name is somethin else. Crap now I'm thinking 'My Enemy' is better.......................watch this space. cant stop listerning to em dude:)

Has to be either Oasis or Simon and Garfunkel for me. I could listen to either any time and never tire of them.

Brighouse and Rastrick?

(I'll get my coat ...)

Hmm tough one to say an all time favorite of mine. But out of all the bands I've seen Foo Fighters have been the best live act I've seen!

I do like a fair amount of bands though!!

just one pick?

Difficult.

Maiden.

Up the Irons!

Has to be Rainbow from the Rising and Onstage period, just a small sample http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r30xZmXq4zM

Dio's vocals, Blackmore's guitar and the thunderous drumming of Cozy Powell, just a superb band and led the way for what is termed the new wave of British heavy metal

Rising is possibly the definitive heavy metal album and heavily influenced bands such as Iron Maiden.

Pink Floyd would be my all time favourite but all there albums aren't what I'd call great but The Wall comes close to perfection for me although Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here have some of their best tracks.

That said my favourite song is by Dire Straits so what do I know

does it have to be a band?

Can i pick a solo artist?

Like most of the bands mentioned, but would have to say Queen - (20yrs today  RIP Freddie Mercury)

Very difficult question! My tastes tend to change a lot.

As a hard rock / metal fan as per an earlier poster I am going with Rainbow. Only Dio era mind, never heard a more perfect band. Everyone is sublime.

I was at one of their gigs in 80/81ish I think, in Edinburgh, Dio was long gone and the vocals at the time were being sung by Joe Lynn Turner, sung with Deep Purple as well, was a little miffed at the time as I liked the track 'Since You've Been Gone' by Graham Bonnet who'd left the band but it was one of the best concerts I've been to, loved them.

Argh that's tough.

Agree with the comments regarding Rainbow, Maiden and I'll also chuck in Metallica.

I think I'd have to say Pink Floyd though.

Acid Drinkers for me :)

There's loads I love (Faith No More/Metallica/Megadeth/AC-DC), but the one band I am still listening to 26 years after I first heard them are The Beastie Boys

The first (1986)...

I love the drunken live version of Benny and the Jets.

I've got close on 2400 albums from Alisah's Attic to Alabama Thunderpussy, so picking a 'best' is nigh on impossible, but one band stands out as being churning out consistently good solid music has to be Monster Magnet...

Wyndorf = 110% rock 'n' roll :cool:

last one is My Curse with the excellent Marcy Mays on lead vocals..

they are all from different albums so all have a slightly different flavour.. if I was to recommend 2 albums it would be Gentlemen and Black Love..

when did you get into the Pumpkins? I had gone off them by Mellon Collie, Siamese Dream is from start to finish pure brilliance though.

just starting to get into a bit of stoner stuff...Thunderpussy/Orange Goblin/Spiritual Beggars...fave band for the last couple of years though has been Clutch

I can't work it out between Dire Straits, Alkaline Trio, Sonny Landreth or Iron Maiden.

I guess I like them all equally since they're all very different styles.

My favourite band is the Rolling Stones, but I think the best band is Alice Cooper from before he went solo. They're one of the few groups where I can enjoy listening to the individual instruments as well as the whole band. Each member had their own distinctive style. The same with Free, and Bowie's Spiders From Mars.

Favourite band would be Metallica without a doubt! However I seen Iron Maiden live and boy they know how to put on a show at that age it's crazy!

Very hard one,own so many albums

At a push Pink Floyd then again Bruce Springteen & the E Street Band :)

AC/DC has been since being 11 and always will be.

Best band seen live, Judas Priest

This really is a tough one as I'm not genre locked in terms of my listening. I'll happily switch from grunge to country to drum and bass to classical to techno/trance etc.

Floyd and Queen stand out from my younger years as Floyd was most often on my tape walkman, but seeing Queen live has to be one of those champagne moments of my life.

These days, based on my current listening trends, I'd have to go with the Foos as that's probably the one band that I've listened to and thoroughly enjoyed right from the very beginning - They've never done a duff track, let alone a duff album.

So there you go. The Foo Fighters for me
