What is you favourite focal length?
I found 35mm my first my second would be 50mm (FF or Equivalent). I'm also love playing with perspective and ultra-wide are fun but accuracy rate is not that high :shake:

On 35mm film it's 135mm, on 6x7cm film it's 50mm. So long on small format and wide on medium format.

Steve.

As I do landscapes mostly (35mm film), I'd say my 24mm, 28mm and 35mm lenses will get used the most. I certainly prefer prime lenses to zooms.

Checking LightRoom it would appear that around 24-28mm on my FF sensor, followed by 105mm.

most of my shots are just views so i use the widest...36mmm equivalent

next would be macro

then as at today's christmas show...full zoom...360

for a prime i think i would be still using the 28mm length as i did on my minolta x-700

guess I love my primes, which are 30mm and 50mm,...but that makes then 50mm and around 85mm respectively on my cropped camera sensor

Is there a way to check on Lightroom without looking at every photo? I would guess around 50mm but not sure...

you can search Lightroom based on meta data, so camera, focal length etc etc

in the library view select the all photographs from the catalog window then press ctrl+l to enable custom filters

Favourite focal length? That's like saying what's your favourite shop! I quite like RGB in Middlesbrough, but I wouldn't call it my favourite if I was after a tin of beans, or a new pair of jeans.

The one that fills the frame with the subject at the time...

I just love 127mm

But generally I just use the one that is best for where I am standing in relation to the subject :cuckoo:

I won't claim credit for finding this clever software (I found it referred to on here somewhere) but it scans all your pics (or the ones you tell it to) and it produces pretty graphs of focal length, ISO, shutter speed and aperture.

I was very surprised to find that my most used focal length is between 30 and 50mm (not sure if that equates to favourite but I assume I must like it). Fascinating results though. It's called ExposurePlot and can be found here http://www.wega2.vandel.nl/

erm for me probably 16mm which is weird for sports tog but the wide angle is superb for some different crowd shorts

Nice program, thanks for sharing!

OK, I can see aperture, camera, lens, etc etc but not focal length
In the Catalog pane on the left highlight 'all photographs' - click on meta data in teh top of the grid view (press G to get there) - hover the mouse over any of the ones you do see - e.g. aperture - a little up/down arrow will appear - click on that and a drop down box appears where you can choose how to filter - lens is the 7th one down! 'Lens' will list all the lenses you have taken shots with - and the number of shots per lens. Good idea to RTM too!
