The thing is, how good someone elses photos are is really based on who looks at them! Some might say yep, crap. Others might say wow!
I don't think my shots are all that. That said, there are a few in quite proud of, but otherwise I think they're naff.
However. I love taking photos and will probably not give that up just because I sometimes look at other peoples' work and wonder why mine aren't as good. I suppose it gives me something to aspire to.
I remember a while ago, I pm'd a fellow, current forum member and we had a brief discussion about photography and being motivated to get out there and do it. Suffice to say, it is quite reassuring to know that even the people you consider to be amazing photographers suffer at the hands of photography doldrums. Little does this member know, but I find myself frequently scanning their site for inspiration and ideas for compositions.
I suppose what I'm trying to say, is to find something that makes you go "wow!" and then try and take something similar. With fresh drive and inspiration, you'll get back into it
