Can anyone recommend me a good pair of headphones, the full size kind that i can have on the beach whilst im not shooting or kiting :D

Something thats not massive but comfy and still decent looking, not the crappy ones that look like you still have walkman :p

Cheers guys:thumbs:

i use phillips they wrap around the back of your ear and are very comfortable

i mean more like DJ headphones that kind of thing but not as massive. Ear wraparounds are good for sport but i was thinking more chilling style ones...

Skull Candy. Linky

Put a lot of research in when I bought mine and they are simply awesome. Very comfortable (for me) and I wear them all day sometimes.
Top headphones reasonably prices. Try the HESH ones - very highly acclaimed and available in Maplins and PC World.
Awesome sound - great range and very good bass!

All the qualities of Bose at a fraction of the cost.

Currys have some like that. Check out their website.

yeah ill have a look at them, their in ear ones are great my mate had the smaller pair of headphones and i didnt really like them but the bigger ones are nice

the Hesh and the Double Agent look sweet

yeah they look pritty good, are they huge? i dont have a massive head for them to go on :p

I got my Sennheiser HD201's about 2 years ago now, and although they probably don't make them anymore I can fully recommend the brand :)

I agree-----sennheiser all the way:agree:

Bear in mind the bigger the headphones the bigger the speaker units in them which require more power to drive them, shortening the time in between charging the batteries.

Used to be that in any recording studio the only headphones you'd see were Sennheiser, way back in my youth I worked in a hifi shop and the Sennheiser headphones beat all the others hands down for quality of sound.

I've got a pair of AKG 271 MkII and they are pretty much spot on but you'd expect that from pro studio headphones. I'm listening to them now (Mozart - Eine kleine Nachtmusik) through my headphone amp and the clarity is incredible. But even still they aren't the best or most expensive at ~£150.

Do you want open or closed?
The difference being open allows sound to leave and enter the headphones, closed seal around your ears so no noise gets in or out. They both have their good and bad points and it's a matter of prefrence, the AKGs I have are closed because my gf doesn't want to hear what I'm listening to :p

How much are you willing to spend? There's something for every budget from £20 to £2000 :)

In general the brands that you want to be looking at for good cans are,
Sennheiser
Grado
AKG
Beyerdynamic
Audio Technica

Also don't take anything I say for granted as I'm admittadly still a noob, take a wander over to Head-Fi forums if you want good advice on good headphones, they know their stuff over there. :)

I wouldn't say they're huge though I do have a massive head, being 47 I do feel a bit of a tit walking around in them though :D, the noise canceling works really well, there's a microphone on the outside which listens to the background noise then some witchcraft happens and it's quiet.

this might give you a better idea of the size

I dont need them for much apart from flights, on the beach but without interuptions while im chilling but i like good bass. I can spend anywere from 70 to 120 ish. I dont need anything pro just something that doesnt looks stupidly big on my head, comfy and good looking.:p

If you want them for use on an aircraft get the active noise canceling ones, I was sat next to an A/C unit while my daughter had a swimming lesson, the low hum was reduced by a good 70% as soon as I flicked the switch, it does the same on planes reducing that hissing sound
