Yes
all in Title really. just confused.

HDR = High Dynamic Range and it means you combine images with different exposures to create one image.

This means you can see detail in the shadows and the highlights.

Its done by taking an image at -2, -1, 0 +1, +2 (all on a tripod) and then combining in an HDR program ie Photoshop

A program called HDRsoft is one I've seen recommended.

any examples for me and the OP?

Hi Ross. As above. Tri-pod's best, although I've got some decent stuff hand-held using my Canon IS lens. Do a search on Flickr for HDR - some of the images are real impressive. (And they inspired me to have a go!) :)

Yep, just type HDR into the search box and browse until your heart's content :)

hmmm thanks sounds intresting,

oh also i take it it has to be landscape things that wont move??? other wise how would it match up?

Read the tutorial!

You can cheat and make HDR from a single RAW image therefore you can do people too.

Mostly. I say mostly because I've since seen some seascapes where the motion of the waves has made for some pretty interesting captures! Bit too advanced for me though - I'll stick to my sunsets for now. ;)
