What have you done to your gear because you were bored?

Hmm this remind me, I tried a lens without the front Dumbo once. I think it was during this operation:

I found the mod Ian, I reckon you should do it. Looks simple enough

Yes... thats the one.. just snipping it off with some side cutters... its a good lens for macro and to be honest they have such low resale value its worth trying.

About 3 years ago with vinyl. Hard to miss the camera now.

I'll be damned! That's stunning as much as it is awful :p

Seriously, it looks like a fantastic job done there. Not to my taste, but very well done on the effort and courage to do it. I'd love to see a step-by-step thread of how this was done

I got the idea from seeing someone else putting red wrap on their camera and lens at a Victorias Secret show a few years ago.

Its vinyl, basically the same stuff used as graphics on the side of vans and signs so it peels back off. Was easy to do, just wrap, then use a heat gun and stanley blade to cut and mould the vinyl into place.

I saw that guy a few years ago, in the same photographs you've linked to . I thought it pretty cool too, it sure makes the camera standout too much.

Removed the crap leatherette from my film cameras and replaced it with real leather, feel much nicer in the hand. Plus, who knows what was ingrained into the leatherette of old cameras

I still have great love for S3 <3 nothing better for skin tones.

I don't think there's any other camera as can touch the image processing in the Fuji S series, and to think it comes from a 6MP interpolated image as well!

Here's hoping for an S7 some day soon!

Dont want to get all teary eyed but yeah I do too. I was really hoping for an S6 before I bought my D700 and now Ive got a D800 it still doesnt match the colours from the Fuji.

@Alan Clogwyn I love that custom strap! "Film is not dead". I'd love a lanyard that had that on it hahaha.
