No
Noticed at the weekend that RGB were offering the 70-300 Nikon VR lens for £350, which is cheapest around, I think.

Today, if you click http://www.rgb-photo.co.uk/, you get "Sorry, RGB Photo is no longer trading".

So I'm glad I didn't order it. :suspect:

I think the OP is correct - dead website, out of business. Maybe refresh your cache Chris?

surely the site would only be in my cache if i had looked at it before?

Some isps have transparent caches that mean you can think you're getting the latest version of something but you aren't. Annoys me no end as I do web design so I have to keep waiting for their stupid cache to update.

RGB photo is showing as no longer trading for me when I go to their main URL.

If you google RGB it says no longer trading, everything on their website is either out of stock or has a future availability date

That's a shame. Their printing service was pretty good. Choice of 5 papers and an exact size printing service.

i was in the shop last week talking to one of the lads & he said they were going to do away with the equipment side of the business & just do the printing service.

are they not liquidated?

I bought my first 1dmkIII from them... good people.. shame to see them go but it would seem thay have :(

Really sad news - they were good guys to deal with and very helpful for an innocent abroad looking for info!

Bit of good news. Turns out they are restructuring to concentrate on just the printing side which makes money, as opposed to the loss making camera equipment side.

They are moving to a bigger location and should be up and rnning again in a few days

Their equipment prices have always seemed to be the lowest. I guess it just wasn't sustainable.

Friday evening (after 6pm) I ordered a Nikon 85/1.8 from RGB, as I'd seen the price was unusually low and it was on my want-list. It was posted saturday by special delivery (even though p&p was free!) and arrived at my workplace monday morning (i.e. yesterday). Today I go to the website just out of curiosity, and get the "ceased trading" notice. Spooky.

This was my first order from them and I was very impressed. What a shame.

So several people have commented that prices were surprisingly low, and then shortly afterwards they go out of business... you know, I think I can see a connection here

Seems like they were clearing out stock - wish I had known ;)

Had a look at companies house and there is a RGB PHOTOGRAPHIC LIMITED registered address is:
2ND FLOOR

Is this the one people have visited? If so it's still fine at CoHo with no dissolved notices in place.

Thats a shame, they were always great to deal with. No issues with them at all

y'learn something new every day.

RGB in Cleveland are moving to a different location in Middlesborough

Ive heard they are having trouble getting the printing equipment from the auditors to be able to set up the new printing operation!

It turns out the reason they shut down RGB-Photo was so they could get out of a long term lease they had signed on the current location. They are know called brighouse prints

Not exactly very ethical.

:plusone:

Very strange to send an email out to customers saying that's what they've done and the reason for doing it!

Wonder if they are going to have any further remaining stock sale?

I would guess the equipment that's left would be sold by the liquadator....

i was in about 2 weeks ago and they are now doing only prints, no longer getting camera stock in. Didn't say anything about changing their name.
