Used to be prompt and reliable.

I ordered a lens that was in stock, with Amazon (not a third party), on the 16th August.

Turns out it wasn't in stock at all, and didn't ship until the 18th.

It's now the 25th and no sign of any delivery :/

got me worried now!
I ordered a lens today and selected 1/2 day delivery, i'll let you know how it goes though.

Tried contacting them?

Have you asked Amazon?

Can you track it?

i stopped using amazon when they introduced the independants through amazon, it never works well, mayes well use ebay its just the same now...

sometimes the shops have there own website as well as the amazon link if i have to i try and use the shops own website...

I just set the seach paramaters to look at "Amazon.co.uk" only

I ordered 4 inks for my printer and everyone is coming from different places, thats my last order with them.

I always use amazon [through third partys] and never had a problem.

Mine was from Amazon EU, even so...I'd expect it to be in stock if they say it is.

Will pay an extra couple of pounds to use the independents in future methinks.

I have contacted Amazon and got a standard 'get back to us if it's not arrived in two weeks' response.

I've never had an issue with amazon and delivery. They've alwyas been great! My only question is what lens are you buying on amazon you couldn't find cheaper elsewhere on the net?

I've had the out of stock problem with Amazon before, it's a pain but they did sort it. A worse problem is recently they seem to have started using HDNL for deliveries, I had no problems with the post, knew when they were likely to turn up and what day but HDNL...grrr I bought a CS5 book and watched it on it's travels to me, or rather to the local depot where it sat for nearly 48 hours (3 miles from my house) before they sent it out, their tracking system is way behind too so it didn't register as on a van until after they had missed me at my house. I chose to go pick it up after that.

Ive ordered loads from Amazon and from the 3rd parties via them and never had a problem, always been delivered quickly and found items to be some of the best prices Ive found. I think for the amount they must ship out they do very well, and there will always be someone that picks up the small percentage of problems.

Amazon have been ok for me. I usually order with free delivery and it comes within a few days.

I've never had a problem with amazon and stock before.....I've never had a first class delivery take over a week before either, even during postal strikes. Not a coincidence I suspect.

I've always found Amazon to be great, especially getting stuff out to Spain. I don't order through the 3rd party sellers though. Did that once and got my fingers burnt.

I use Amazon a lot as I have limited retail sources where I live. In my experience, they have gone downhill this year - many issues with recent orders.

Out of 16 orders (Amazon direct) since May, issues with 7:

*Iomega 1TB Network drive packed up after 2 weeks - not their fault for the failure but refund took over 5 weeks.
*£200 Suunto Core watch took 8 days to arrive and had previously been opened and worn, thumbed instruction manual and bashed box.
*Melamine picnic set arrived - previously opened and 3 items missing and 1 cracked.
*Lexar UDMA card reader arrived in an envelope and was smashed into bits.
*Orange leather iphone pouch arrived - in black
*B&W Circular polarizing filter never turned up. Had to wait 21 days to claim, 21 days passed and then Amazon were out of stock. Had to order elsewhere at £27 more.
*Curry Secrets book ordered last Saturday (in stock) on 1-2 day delivery, was despatched today (Friday).

Pretty poor, I'm using them less and less.

amazon is always good for me! brilliant service always. their independent sellers are faar more reliable than fleabays :)

I usually order at least once a week from Amazon or their subs, only ever had one mislaid parcel, and that turned up on same day as replacement.
Very pleased with their customer service. Maybe been lucky.

Just received my Canon 50mm lens today after ordering on Wednesday so they seem to be doing pretty good with me, then again I've never had to return anything

Given up on receiving the lens from Amazon now and ordered from Warehouse Express. Leaves me out of pocket for a few weeks, but hey ho.

If Amazon had been a bit more helpful, like explaining to me how long a replacement/refund would take, rather than just sending me the same patronising "sod off until 3rd September" responses I might have waited.

I normally find amazon to be great. Had a faulty keyboard, and they had DHL collect the keyboard twice (it broke twice, never buy the Saitek Eclipse III keyboard, whatever you do!!), they had fast responses to my emails and were all good.

However, I did just get a 17-50mm tamy f/2.8 from them, a lens worth just over £300, and they sent it out through standard royal mail post, who just left it outside! I was expecting them to use a courier...
