Yes
I drive 90mins each way to work, and often drift off into my world..where petrol costs 10p for a full tank and all women are naked.. but that aside..

I drive through some truly stunning countryside, and quite often kick myself, regularly for not taking my camera. But when I do its foggy!

Anyhow...
I was pondering just how good the human eye was at exposing an image, no filters or processing required!

So.. I was wondering when the first Bio-lens would be produced? ;)
Imagine a lens which had the same versitility as your eye? depth of field and exposure??? wow!

I guess you can't beat nature!

The other thoughts I have while driving I cannot sadly share!! ;)

Glad it's not just me then!

But some foggy shots are the best!
(I do it too sometimes...when I don't have my camera, I 'see' more pictures...yet when I have it with me I draw a blank).

Matching the human eye (and brain) combo for exposure would be nice (Because you can't really have one without the other).

But depth of field is a bit limiting. I know personally my eyes dont have much DOF, I'm forever refocusing when I look up :D

Now *speed* and silence, that would be amazing :D (And cost, considering my eyes were free...lol)

Hmm, spose I could paint a red ring around my eyes.......

Shurrup Bod you're getting silly now...lol

I think your parents would beg to differ! I think they just did a story on BBC that said it now costs 180,000 gbp to raise a child. ;)

Marcel, your in luck, well maybe

The macula is located roughly in the center of the retina, temporal to the optic nerve. It is a small and highly sensitive part of the retina responsible for detailed central vision.

SO, with a bit of luck and a following wind, one day it might be possible for you to have an upgrade to a macuLa :cuckoo:

/hands coat anyway ...lol

It really did tickle me, that figure of 180,000. Assuming that's 18 years worth, that's 10,000 a year....or 192 a week...

Who spends 192 a week on their kids? Mine cost me about 4.53....bargain :D

My journey to work is largely not photogenic, but when I cycle to work I often stop to compose a shot in my head, I cycle about 20miles along very old and scenic canal towpaths. Unfortunately, im unable to take a camera with me when i do cycle as I would be breeching several security rules if I did take my camera with me into work, serious sacking on the spot offence.

I don't know I spend 600gbp a month just on child care!!! And that was the least expensive I found in the area although I"d like to not say I send my son to a cheap child care place.

Do that my self, but I'm walking. Wonder what thinks would be like with this and that takin away or added. Even when I was doing alot of interviews and speech's with the school I would talk threw them in my head, never helped my spelling! :)

It's not the Lens - it's the Software - the human eye is actually quite poor at resolving detail other than at the very centre of the lens - we scan scenes and the brain takes care of the rest, building an image in the mind that we "see".

What I want to see is interpolation software as good as the human brain and with the same low-light capabilities.

i think scoff wishes he had a focus for his 90 minute drive...

Good analogy, its the software, not the lens...what we need is an infinitely adjustable sensor for varying the ISO across chosen parts of its surface... depending on the subject...or something....that would get us closer to the human eyes view.

It’s a bit like the chicken and the egg though isn't it. You could say the camera takes a more realistic image than the eye...since the eyes view is highly process to allow us to see for survival sake...not for accurately recording the actual light.

Or am I talking B***ks. :D

With all those naked women in your mind ....not surprised you can't share your thoughts with us !!;) :)

I'm usually screaming insults at all the rubbish drivers round here...
I even do Back-Seat Road-Rage, to the amusement of my colleagues...

I thought we were supposed to mellow with age - I just seem to get less tolerant of anyone doing anything half-*ssed at all...

Maybe one of the team should change your nickname on here to Mr Meldrew... ;) :exit:

All that goes through my mind is ` I`ve got to go to that effing dump again, oh why o why cant I win the lottery!

Is likely somewhat more pleasant than what goes through the fly's when it smacks your windscreen ...

But they do m8 ... they do ... sad thing is they often take innocents with them when they do it ...:shake:

:p

It seems that my car has developed an invisiblility cloak at the moment, in the past 2 weeks have had one hit and three near misses with people pulling out in front of me. No looking just straight out of the junction or onto roundabouts and scarily trying to drive into the side of me on the motorway, that particular idiot must have been doing about 40 mph and was trying to get into the middle lane (on an empty m,way) as I was overtaking, w**ker, and he had his fog lights on.
