What frame size for 18 x 12 photos

Hello,

I was going to go for a 20x16 frame because they cheap and readily available, but I'm not sure if it would look odd because of the uneven mount spacing on the top and bottom. Would an A2 frame size be better? What size would you recommend and where's the best place to purchase them?

Sorry to be a pain, I've never framed any of my work before and just wondering what frame size would nest suit a 18x12 photo.

I used this one to mount my (exact sized) photos, the plastic is quite reflective, but in the right location the photos look like floating on the wall. I'm pleased with the result.

Wilkos have some like that at various sizes, staring with the A4 one for £1 I think!

Do you have a custom frame builder near you? You should be able to get 22x18 frames for less than £20. Not the cheapest but definitely worth it over frames that don't fit properly or cheap frames. You should gat a choice of dozens of frames as well.

I was thinking 22 X 16 because that would give me a 2" border all round. I do have two local framers but I expected them to be £50+ per frame.

I had a look on picture lizard and they do a custom frame that size for about £22.50 + VAT. I'll maybe pop into my local framers and see how much they would charge.
