What "foods" do you really hate?

Surprised that gooseberries have been mentioned a couple of times in here - I absolutely love them and have never really considered that they're a weird thing to like !!!

I can take them or leave them cooked, they're OK but maybe a bit goopy when overdone - but my mum has a couple of gooseberry bushes in the garden and I'll quite happily eat them raw straight off the plant . . . Mmmmmmm. Roll on Summer :)

What a fussy lot of bleeders you are :p
I've tried most things over the years,
and there is nothing in that list that I wouldn't eat again.
And that includes all ofal, Stuffed baked lambs hearts and roast potatoes Hmmmm :)
(although prefer lambs offal to pigs) oxtail, pigs trotters / brawn, Sushi
all shell fish.
The only minor reservation is Pasta of any kind, is not high on my favourite list, but I eat it occasionally.

I forgot one.....Tea.

Any kind of ofal , curry of any description ( even the smell makes me feel ill ) coffee , cadbury creme eggs ,beef unless it's in a burger/lasagne/bolognese, kidney beans , mushy peas, sprouts , liqourice, peppers....

other than that lot I'm really easy to please food wise :D

Liquorice I agree with, but cream eggs....best thing on the planet!

Crisp Sandwiches (just read about the pop up cafe in Belfast); something I have never enjoyed.

Ah yes, offal...really can't do offal of any sort. Lots of foods I dont like but could and would eat out of politeness or being very hungry, but all offal would be in the loathe list. Beef, full slab of beef good, and quite happy with minced beef in lasagne, etc, or beef sausages, or even meatballs, but wont go near a beefburger...I KNOW!! I think it was probably one too many crap burgers as a kid, its the whole shape and bap thing, yuk. Again though, if it was a case of good manners would probably cope.

What foods do I really hate? As to date, none.

Peas, I can't stand the little buggers and too often they are put in other meals for no good reason. Yuk.

Mustard (all types)
Avocado
Blue cheese
I love meat, but I hate the fat,I always cut it off once it's cooked. Like bacon fat, duck, pork chops, lamb etc. I hate chewing on fat, it makes me gag...unless it's crackling, I love crackling.

That's about it for me. I'll quite happily shove anything in my belly.

black pudding, basically a fried scab and onions. no ta.

Fish/Seafood, Cheese, Salad Cream/Mayo, beetroot, tomatos, mushrooms, any kind of offal, any kind of pickle/chutney.

That's the stuff that really makes me want to vom, there are probably plenty of others I turn my nose up at

It would be a fair assumption that I'm a little bit of a fussy eater ;)

I hate the following:

baked beans
chips
fat
butter
white cheap bread
salad dressing
supermarket sausages
crisps
sugar
anything deepfried
McDonalds et all

Wow, how on earth did you end up in Scotland?? :p :exit:

Tomatoes, Mushrooms, Egg, olives, Parsnips. Most everything else is fair game.

not really a "food" but even the smell of the damned stuff as it's mashing makes me gip... TEA

I liked, then unliked...just so I could like it again!!

People who don't like tea shouldn't be allowed to vote... or express opinions... or reproduce!!

Steve.

I'm guessing they are still using the same batch that was dumped in to water all those years ago?
Sure tastes like it to me :p

One of my favourite film lines of all time is from Mary Poppins:

"As the ship lay anchored in Boston Harbor, a party of the colonists dressed as red Indians boarded the vessel, behaved very rudely, and threw all the tea overboard. This made the tea unsuitable for drinking. Even for Americans"

And as if "normal" tea (like there could ever be such a thing) isn't bad enough, then people come along with green teas. Or fruit teas. or green fruit teas!!! :runaway::runaway:
It's still just boiled water!!!!! :runaway::runaway:

............deep breaths.....aaaand relax. :-)

Piccalilli, hate the smell and texture.:(

... AARRGGHH!! forgot about piccalilli .... !!! Mr QS loves it on sarnies of all kinds but I really struggle to even get it out of the jar.

Tea is one of those things I haven't drunk voluntarily for many years, a bout of German Measles as a kid and the vomit tea induced during it put me off for a very long time. In the last 10 years or so its got back into the 'will drink out of politeness' list, but thats probably where it will stay, even though I live with a tea afficionado [he has managed to get my northern born daughter hooked on Earl Grey and pot brewed darjeeling]. However, there is just one exception, when in Morocco, you can't not drink the Mint tea :D

when in Morocco, you can't not drink the Mint tea

Is that the one which is served with a big chunk of sugar in it? My friend made some for me like that a few years ago.

And my favourite non actual tea, tea like drink is peppermint.

I really struggle to even get it out of the jar.

You need a bigger spoon!

It's still just boiled water!!!!!

As is coffee. One of the most hideous liquids to ever be put in a cup. It's on par with lager.

Don't worry I survive just fine on salmon, lamb, venison, duck, artisan bread and imported vegetables :p

For years, tea (proper English breakfast type!) gave me horrendous indigestion but in recent years I've been able to drink it and enjoy it. I try to limit myself to 3 cups of coffee per day then switch to tea (as well as having an early morning cuppa if I'm awake when Mrs Nod heads out at 06:30). Also not a fan of ginger, although I can handle small amounts in a dish if I have to!
