The crime egg thread made me wonder about this because they really make me heave. Can't stand them ... Yuk, yuk, yuk!!!

Also on my "hate" list are doughnuts, anything with aubergines and pretty much all kinds of shell fish. Shuddering at the thought ...!

Anyone else got food hates or is it just me?

Baked beans and coffee flavoured sweets are about the only 2 things I won't eat.

veal and belly pork.

Not keen on fish or other seafood. However I love a proper seafood paella.

Cod in parsley sauce, Prunes, and Semolina, it's a school thing i think.

I'll eat pretty much anything apart from custard.

It makes me gag and retch.

Edit: No tittering at the back. :D

Cauliflower cheese, separately I like both, but to me when combined they taste almost as foul as Marmite.

Kidneys are probably the only out right thing I can think of that are a just gag!

Peppers, red, green, orange, yellow, makes no odds, can't stand them, make me want to heave. Also still fatty fat on meat, so things like belly pork are no good, the texture of fatty fat in my mouth EEUUGHHHHH, another retch inducing foodstuff. Even on bacon it has to have been cooked crispy.

Tofu. Curdled devil's semen IMO!

I also don't eat eggs as "eggs". I love mayonnaise, meringue, cake etc. but if I eat a boiled, fried, poached etc. egg, I'll throw it back up. I can handle the small bits that come in egg fried rice and the like but a whole egg is beyond me. Having said that, I haven't tried for quite a few years - I loathe throwing up so don't want to risk it!

There are a few food combinations that I'm not particularly fond of even though I like the components as individual items - Marathon bars are the one that springs to mind, I love peanuts, caramel and chocolate but don't like them all in one mouthful (and yes, I do know they're Snickers bars now but they'll always be Marathons in my brane!!!)

Beetroot, makes me physically sick, avocado as it's like earwax and baby octopus makes me retch ...

I am the same as Nod can't stand eggs as eggs.

Cow heel, pigs trotters, tripe, ox tail, brawn, hodge, sweetbreads (more commonly known as testicles), brisket, cow's heart - though lamb's heart could be OK.

I was brought upon all that lot and hated it then, and the thought of it still makes me shudder.
Most of what's mentioned above^^^ would have seemed like a feast when I were a lad.

Why would you put white bread in coffee;)

the texture of fatty fat in my mouth EEUUGHHHHH, another retch in.
it may be a northern thing,but......snigger.

Eggs that are recognisable, fat and gristle, rice pudding/semolina pudding and anything very 'high'.

Nuts...any nuts.
Marmite.
Shellfish.
Bananas (the texture not the flavour).

Edit....oh and those revolting creme eggs!

Liver, the smell alone makes me want to heave, beetroot is like a mouthful of mud and of course sprouts

Anything cooked on a barbecue.

There is no barbecue food which cannot be cooked better in an oven!

Steve.

My parents were not good in the kitchen and put me off most things. I've discovered that a lot of stuff can be nice when cooked properly (or at least, not cremated or served raw) but I can still not stomach baked beans, even if they're 'hidden' in a chilli. Not a coffee fan either.

Celery, melon and fish pies. All make me gag (even if not eaten together)

Baked beans, peas and sushi - makes me want to gag thinking about eating raw fish!

After nearly two decades working as a tomato greenhouse worker until the firm closed up four years ago, I am now unable to even look at a tomato without breaking out in a cold sweat. Heck, I never really liked them before I took on the job.

Gooseberries also sends a shiver down my doobries, I hate the smell, texture and taste of them. Even the mere mention of them makes me feel ill.

Tastes have changed over many years & although even as a kid I liked most things, avocado pears, beetroot, peanut butter, Spam & dog 5h!t (or any other animal's crap tbh) are the only constant's I can't abide! :puke:

I like fish, but the thought of eating any kind of shell fish makes me boak.
Never tried it mind.

Kidney, liver, rabbit, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage and chocolate.

Edit, the chocolate was added by my fat gut :)

Cheers.

Mushrooms!

Prob other things, but most I'll eat reluctantly, just really hate mushrooms. Slimey little things....bleh

Funnily enough, thats another 'texture' thing with me, I can eat mushrooms raw, and ok with them chopped into tiny unrecognizable bits in a sauce/stew, but loathe just normal cooked mushrooms, whole or roughly sliced/chopped, like you say, slimy horrible things.

Yea, as long as they are hidden, I'll eat them lol.

There are a few things that I think I would not like but I've never had them, eg veal, heart, sweetbreads. The only thing I know that I have had and don't like is stem ginger. Ginger powder or root ginger cooked in meals I like, but stem ginger sets my teeth on edge.

Interesting comment about mushrooms, Yv. Our daughter is the same - raw ones fine but pushes cooked ones to the side of the plate.
