What External Hard Drive for Macbook Pro Retina

Hi my Lightroom library is nearing its limit - ideally i don't want to start deleting photos so what external hard drive would you guys recommend? I have done a quick online search but just too much choice. I would say a 500GB would be a good start and has to be compatible with Apple Macbook.

I'm very happy with my WD mypassport ultra for general usage. Is the rMBP USB3? They do a specific mac version, but I believe you can save yourself several pounds by buying the normal one and reformatting it.

This is one dedicated for Mac? Previous version is 10 less through Amazon.

Seems like a reasonable price

I like the look of the Apple Time Capsule but on the pricey side not sure if its worth the investment at this stage.

For the prices about i would say start looking for at least an 2TB for me 500gb would just fill up to fast

pretty much any (you'll get horror stories about every drive that is suggested).

as said, doesnt need to be mac specific. just reformat it to HFS+.

You could have 2-3TB for not much more... you don't need the expensive 'for mac' sticker; you can reformat the drive yourself

that would work nicely. I have non-ultra 2TB for over year and it is very reliable.
