Since the thread has been resurrected, I've been trying out Wingnut's LoFi on some of my pics just for some variation. It's free to try and $14.99 to buy (less than I paid!). The usual disclaimers apply: I have no special relationship with the company other than 1) being a customer, and 2) being a bit of a wingnut myself

Edit: I've just found out what 'wingnut' means in the States. This in no way applies to me. I'm a liberal democrat, not a right wing nut.

photoscape, I find it quite good for a free software. One day I will have spare money for photoshop, but happy with this for now.

Apple Aperture 3 - seems to do all that I require. The brushes is so refreshing compared to the layer approach...
