When i first switch my PC (wind 10) on i get the message below for a second then it goes on to the ACER screen that's no problem, if i leave the computer turned on but not being used for over 30min i get the same message in a box on a black screen,at this point it can be a problem as i struggle to get rid of it, some times pressing enter will do it sometimes clicking the mouse and sometimes a mix of both will do it.
Sometimes nothing will shift it and i have to switch off at the mains, then when it comes back all is ok.

The message

D-SUB
OUT OF RANGE
75-0KHZ / 59HZ

Thanks

Never seen that sort of message myself but IMO it is in relation to the monitor settings..........................I will see if I can post a screengrab of the display settings I am thinking of?

OK no grab but
Right click on desktop>select Display Settings>scroll down and click "Advanced Display Settings">next screen click Display Adaptor Properties>that brings up a dialogue....Monitor tab>refresh rate and see what it says. FWIW mine is at 59Hz

Looks like your graphics processor can't provide your monitor resolution at the refresh rate chosen. Go into graphics settings to change it.

The message is just when your monitor isn’t getting a signal from the computer.

When you first turn it on you’ll probably get it before the computer boots to its BIOS (the acer screen).

It will also come on when the computer goes to sleep (after non-use of the computer for 30 minutes) To wake it up again a mouse click or hitting enter a few times should return it from its sleep state.

Both of these are normal, not all monitors display this message but some do. You can adjust the power settings to not go to sleep after 30 minutes if you’d prefer.

Going to try my spare monitor, although i have used this one for a while it is a 3D monitor

Thanks i will give that a go

Changed the sleep time to after 3 hours, see how it goes.

As said, this is a message from your monitor that it's no longer connected. It's nothing to worry about, and can be safely ignored.

:agree: D-SUB is the VGA connector which you're probably not using.

I missed that and FWIW my monitor settings are auto so that it scans the ports to find the one on use (D-sub or DVI) but I can in the monitors own user interface settings pick one.

@mikew it could be that the monitor has its knickers in a twist and if you can select (as I mention above) the specific port in use that may resolve it though it could be a developing fault???
