what do you think of the nikon d80

hey everyone :)
i have been looking around and i like the look of the nikon d80 but i havnt got much clue on if its any good or not! :shrug:

if it helps in the future i was looking to do wedding photos and nature shots.

can you give me some advice on this camera please

The D80 is a very good camera as are nearly all the major manufacturers cameras. Whats your budget? You may want to look at the D60 as its a newer model and can be picked up for a song at the moment which may give you some money for better lenses, which is what will improve the quality of your shots.

Excellent camera the D80, and with the introduction of the D90 can be had quite a bit cheaper now, also there's good second hand market on them, some people will say older technology now but i wouldn't worry about that, the D80 is a very capable camera for doing weddings and wildlife with the right glass in front of it.
 
Also if I remeber correctly with the D60 you must buy AF-S lenses in order to AF but the D80 has a body motor so can work with older AF lenses as well.
 
The D80 is a great wee camera, especially now that the price has dropped. It's not so basic (like the D40x/D60) that you'll be wanting to upgrade very quickly, but nor is it overly complicated, so it is ideal for learning with.

All this is true. My 1st camera and cannot fault it one bit:D I didn't find t too hard to grasp all the different settings and all that, I say go for it:thumbs:
 
I am in love with my D80. Best camera I've had so far and I can say its pretty tough. I take mine underground in caves and mines and it gets drenched in water full of oxides, sometimes it gets bashed against rocks and crushed and its never failed.

I use it with the 18-70 kit lens and its done brilliant so far, no complaints at all.
