What do you think of layers for Lightroom?

First off it's not really layers in lightroom, it just opens an external editor by onone and that generates a PSD. It's biggest issue though is the price, you'd be far better off to buy elements and save the money, elements can do so much more as well.

Has anyone used onone's software layers for Lightroom?
Is it free? If not is it worth it? (I have Photoshop)

If you have Photoshop, why would you want layers for Lightroom

I am just curious about it. Plus if it's free it would be nice instead of going into photoshop for it. But if it's not really layers then there's no point.

It is layers, but it's exactly the same as the edit in photoshop option, it just opens a different external editor to photoshop. The software sort of takes a layers part of photoshop (sort of) and lets you add layers and blend modes, then creates a PSD.
If you already have photoshop theres little to be gained, it's aimed at people who buy Lightroom and find they need layers but dont have photoshop, trouble is it's going to be priced a lot dearer than elements, which has a lot more options for editing.

Swanseamale is correct and from what I can make out (and I may be wrong) there is no option to use a graduated filter on the mask as you can in PS layers to get a smooth blend, there is just a brush tool!
