hay folks i am of to london for the weekend for a mix of football, (my mighty west ham united) urban photography, and a lovely weekend away with my mrs.
now my only concerns is the place we are staying is a unmanned guest house (cheep place to stay for the night) but leaving my camera gear at the digs while at the football and having a wee tipple is now a major worry
i have now decided to take my old canon 1000d (back up camera) and basic kit. ie, 18-35 mm kit lens and my 50mm f\1.8 lens and a handful of filters just incase
so any other suggestions would be greatfull... thank you...alex

Peli case padlocked and chained to the radiator will defeat all but the best equipped thieves.

Alternatively, if your car has a decent security system then it can be better locked in the boot.

thanks chaps just going to take my old camera i thinks.... and strapping a camera bag to the mrs will just slow her down even more and sod that:eek: lol

Insurance? Won't stop it getting nicked tho.

In the boot is my choice all the time, there is so much rubbish in my boot I can hide the camera bag and the boot can be dead locked so it won't open without the key anyway so safest place half the time

Might be worth enquiring to see if the stadium has a 'cloak room' you can check it into while your at the match, or try to find a close train station with lockers?

Take only one picture with the camera. That being your name and mobile number.
Get your wife to take it to the nearest 24 hour Police Station stating that she found it in the local McDonalds.

Stand by for the helpful PC who having checked the pictures calls you and you arrange to pick up after the game.
Or, having not received a call, walk in to the Police Station after the game and re claim your lost property. Easy to prove it is yours, it has your name and phone number on the first picture!

Good luck,

Dave
