What do you guys do to get your Mojo back?!

I sent my camera in for a repair before hand it spent most of the time in the bag before hand now i cant wait to get it back. Dont think ive ever missed anything as much i see photo opportunity's everywhere i look now lol roll on tomorrow till i get it back....

You won't regret it, I'm sure.
You could even have a go for these remaining few weeks just to see how you get on before starting proper next year.
This weeks theme is "Round" over to you as to how you interpret the theme. There are no hard and fast rules, except those which you set yourself. Some people for example award themselves say 3 "jokers" to be played through the year if they struggle with a particular theme.
I haven't bothered with rules myself, I just go with the flow, if its late so be it. Give it a go!
On the subject of meeting other people to go photographing with, there is always something happening in the meeting forum. There is one for 22nd December in London which will be good. Not sure if you are willing/able to travel but I would recommend the meet. Iain

Well............ I'm charging my camera up so that's a good sign and a start lol!..... seriously tho can i do the last couple of weeks? and without appearing dafter than i am where are everyone elses threads, i'm searching ( maybe with eyes closed) but can't see! i see the original sticky thread but thats it!

As for the London meet i did see that and i had hoped to get to London before xmas tho not sure if funds will allow yet (i know that sounds pants)!!...... Certainly try tho because it would be ace to meet up with everyone :)

I go to my fav photos books with photo i really like, the one you look at and say to yourself i wish i had taken that.

That alway seem to help me :)

Yes you can certainly do the last couple of weeks, it will give you a head start and a little flavour of doing the full 52 in 2013.
There are not a lot of us left who started the 52 in 2012 but those of us remaining, our threads can be found in "Projects, Personal Challenges and Themes" part of the forum.
I would say dive straight in, you will be more than welcome.
Funds allowing attending the London meet doesn't sound pants at all T, I completely understand. I used that as an example but I am sure there will be meets closer to home for you. You could even arrange one yourself ;).
Just pick a suitable meet location, start the thread in the meet section and people will come along. I might even attend myself, funds permitting ;)

Just by the sound of your post above I'd come along, out of curiosity to see what would happen  What could possibly go wrong?

Ahh we've all done it, I'm sure.
In further answer to your original question T, sometimes I will go out for the day specifically for photography and my camera doesn't come out of the bag.
I don't worry about it, it is good once in a while to just sit and look.
Something will come along or I will see something eventually that I will photograph.
Since taking up photography a good few years ago, I find myself constantly looking now for photo opportunities. When I don't have a camera with me, I make a mental note to return another day to capture whatever it is I have seen.
Even just seeing something which I won't necessarily see again, like specific cloud formations when I don't have a camera with me inspires me to keep looking, there is so much around us :)
Lacking mojo happens to us all but I am sure if you have lost yours it will return, it almost always does. Keep looking, keep dreaming

I've been inspired by a friend and am going to have a go at a 365 next year. His photography was good, but has really improved over the last year.
We also set up a photography group locally and tend to give each other ideas and try to go out & shoot.

The 365 in the past as definitely been something i was keen to try! the 52 might be ideal for me to start with so i have the week to think and shoot etc!

I see you're Northants too! central or village? :)

What do you guys do if you feel it trying to escape?

I get a young lady to come round and disrobe.... then later i think about taking some pictures

Hate feeling like this...... Wanting to pick the cam up but not knowing what i want to do.... i would love to do a portrait of strangers series or something but i know i just haven't got the confidence to ask people!. I've bottled it so many times!... so i would need to hide and get sneak shots lol

I don't have a set style i'm random and often see shots in everything, i enjoyed the Autumn with leaves and some landscape/forest shots but now even thats not grabbing me!!

Maybe it's just the gloomy weather recently or that i am always going out on my own which i never thought a major issue before, i don't know but either way i want it back!!

I tend to come on this very forum, read camera news sites etc. Generally get back into it all if I have been "out of the loop". That usually gets me buzzing to get out and use it. Or try post processing some older shots. That tends to get confidence up that you can produce good shots.
Otherwise try to force yourself to take the cam everywhere and use it.

Someone has had mine too. I blame the time of year. Dark and rubbish. Too cold outside and nothing indoors worth looking at.

One thing that can help is a change of equipment. Take out different lens or play around with phone camera instead of proper dslr.

I got a new 30mm with macro and its not been out of the house yet. Had big plans to take it all manner of gloomy and poorly lit places but just not felt like it so it doesn't always work!

Some how i don't think a young lady would have the same effect for me!:lol:

Yep this site has been a god send to be honest! i went out in the frost today and quite enjoyed it so hoping it lasts!

Yes i blame the weather too, especially when its the miserable grey boring skies and i think that is alot to blame, i don't have any different lenses tho hoping to treat myself after xmas to a 50mm

Add it in front of the last letter! Doesn't help with inspiration and tends to make any pictures a bit camera shaky...

More seriously, I can recommend a bit of open brain surgery followed by pneumonia and interspersed with rampant GAS! The brain surgery removed what was eating my Mojo and the rampant GAS made me use the new G. The intervening pneumonia merely served to reinforce a zest for life and living that had been missing for a while.

For those who haven't got it yet, adding it in front of the last letter of mojo gives you mojito, a rather tasty combination of limes, white rum and soda! Extremely refreshing and (at the bar where I ususlly partake) rather potent!

Haha like it! If not solving my problem you've at least made me laugh!
I'll have an extra large bucket of mojito please

Instead of going out and about with the camera why not try doing something different indoors - smoke or water drops for instance. That way you don't see the grey misery or get wet and you can work in comfort when the mood takes you - you aren't constrained by time.

That's actually making me crosser lol, i've not had the camera long and trying to really understand and get to grips with manual settings, i don't have any other equipment and lighting in my house is pretty awful, i need to at least get a lamp/torch or something. I am just getting really stuck with settings shooting indoors!:bang:

Maybe i need to get instruction book out and start reading to understand better
