Ambition over ability Cedric. No offence Darryn,but you are lucky to walk away from that one intact,and I hope you are intact,I also hope it has brought you down to earth with a bump.We all think we are the best drivers in the world,reality is that we are not,slow down and live longer fella.

PS...The roads over the moors are very often slippy,very slippy and they are public roads,try doing a track day if you feel the need to spank your car about.

:lol::lol::lol: Imps are the best cars in the world ... but also the worst! They are great fun to drive, but they are pritty slow and not very good at motorway crusing. With a bit of investment they can be much better and very reliable, but do require regular tlc to make sure they don't dissolve away in the british rain :lol: Mine maxed out at 60mph on the motorway yesturday, the engine is fubared! Luckily I have a supercharged engine in the garage I have almost finished :D

Shouldn't laugh really, but a 20 year old bought a used CTR from my local dealer. 3rd party insurance was about £3K! The dealers's parting shot as he drove off was "Just take your time and get used to it"

The lad never quite made the first roundabout 150 yds from the dealers. :lol:

Thankfully, nothing hurt but his pride and a hefty repair bill.

They used to have car stickers here with the slogan "Glasgow's Miles Better" and the wee Mr Happy character on it. I modified one for my Imp that read "Imps are miles better.........than skateboards" The Mr Happy figure also gained horns and a trident :lol:

Peugeot 306 Rallye
Trackday car that Ive built up for playing on alot of the UK circuits and for weekend drives out on the B roads. Had it just over 3 years and bought it completely standard. Fully stripped with full cage, bucket seats and harnesses, few performance mods and uprated all the suspesion, wont bore you with the full spec but its fun and my main hobby. Also where my user name comes from lol

i drive a vauxhall astra 2001 2.0 sxi diesel 50/60 mpg but we also have an old escort finesse 1.6 good little runner but i say it doesnt matter what you drive as long as it does its job thats what counts :bonk:

'81 Citroen Dyane, stock 602cc flat twin engine, no silencers, slammed suspension, uncomfortable, incredibly loud, incapable of tackling speed humps,80mph flat out, but 50mpg and the most fun you can have with your pants on. I LOVE this car.
 
I know this is an old thread, but I thought I'd put in my humble ride ...

 
Currently : Vauxhall Corsa 1.4 (Same style as Mr Sayle's but in BR green)

Fixing this up:

Was involved in a crash (before I got it) so the whole front end needed taking apart, checking, replacing etc. Stripped out all the interiors, cleaned it all and checked it all.

It does now have another indicator ;)

Just need to get/fit some new shocks and it'll be pretty much ready to roll.

Currently in a 51 plate BMW 530D estate auto- it is the perfect car for Germany and the autobahn, cruising 4 up with kit to the roof @ 130mph, and getting 40mpg.

Bit concerned about its practicality in the UK though!
 
My old Italian Lady, she won`t live with Imprezas,Golf GTi`s,M3`s or Evo`s, but by God is it nice to drive.

Our lads just bought an '82 308GTSi - its fantastic !

As for the Citroen Dyane further up the thread, I have had 2 of them, most fun you can have, just brilliant cars, I remember whooping my mates 2 litre Meastro by just not braking and me and my passenger doing 'The Lean' into corners :) A6 Levens Bridge, North Bound if anyone knows it, he didn't catch us till Kendal, haha, although he did stop to make sure we wern't in the field !

Belts every two years, takes a half a day on them and parts,belts and bearings are about £100................:thumbs:

A lot of bodywork is no longer available,Ferrari take the mick big time on some parts.

Full set of pads for mine from FUK are daft money. Fronts are the same as BMW 6 series and the rears are Ford Orion fronts.Info like this will save him a mint.

Mate of mine near here knows them inside out,has his own garage and would probably do any work he wanted if he isn`t keen on DIY.But honestly, they are not that difficult to do.

Very handy to know, his last motor was a Mk1 RS so he knows his way around a car, an engine is an engine though ;)

It came from an independent, in Bath I think but knowledge is ppower and all that !

drivers side rear wheel off,liner off, belts and more or less everything else is looking at you..............:thumbs:

Very comfortable, doesn't require a lot of service, cheep to run and maintain in this part of the world ... the list goes on!
