Yes
Do you keep your old photography magazines gathering dust or throw them out?

I've got a big pile of mags going back 4 years. I dont remember ever going over old issues, but for some reason I cant quite bring myself to throw them away!

I've only been getting them since christmas, but I got them all and as I'm a bit of a hoarder I expect to have them for a little while yet!

I tear out any of the articles that I found interesting and then bin the remainder of the magazine.

Same as what i do with my pornography magazines?

:p

I dunno, I have never bought a photography magazine in my life. But other magazines like FHM that i used to buy, i bin it after a while.

Bin them.... in fact I was binning so much money I just stopped buying them altogether at the beginning of the year. They are all so repetitive it's painful!

We had a stack of them and decided to tear out the articles we wanted and put them in files in those plastic pockets you can get. Net result is we have a couple of files we don't really look at which take up more room than the magazines did!

supermarket sells them on for me

I normally pass them on to my local barber shop together with my old Classic Rock mags.

I'm building a 20:1 scale model of a Leica IIIg in papier maché with mine.

My old car mags go into work to try and promote the brand. I've recently found someone to pass my photo mags onto.

.
all of you !!!!!!!!......GIVE TO YOUR LOCAL LIBRARY......sorted

I get them passed to me from my brother in law, I then take them into work and leave in reception for customers to read :p

i drop mine on the table at work, quite surprised by who you see looking through them.

As previously mentioned, tear out any articles of interest and bin the rest. Maybe scan any that I really think I should keep if the tear outs start accumulating. Having said that, given the amount of advertising that goes on in the photo mags, I have almost stopped buying them altogether. Perhaps the odd one if there is a good dvd tutorial on the front etc...

I used to buy them, but soon stopped. I get more information here, and I read one or two on the web.

Look at the prices lenses used to be, then bin them and start weeping..............:D

I tried to get some interest recently on here for swapping unwanted mags and books for postage costs only

Not exactly inundated with replies, so back to the recycle bin for me

All mine go to a 15 year old girl who want's to be a photographer when she leave's school..:)

I've kept a stack from the early eighties. It's frightening how much things have changed.

I use mine as bait in a dust trap.

Occasionaly dig into the pile to find reviews of kit I'm considering buying or to compare prices from a few years ago to those of today as well as to find contact details of firms who used to advertise but may have ceased trading in the meantime.

Once the bait area is full, I have a cull of some titles, keeping those that actually have something of interest in them and binning the same articles from 12 months before that have had a few of the words changed and a couple of paragraphs swapped around to make them seem new.

I keep the good mags that have interesting articles. I noticed however at the beginning of my interest in photography I bought magazines that focused more on reviews and advertisements than on techniques, good photos and other stuff. I binned the useless ones and I'm holding onto the new ones.
I'm finding it's not easy to get a good issue with interesting articles so the past ones serve as my reading.
